Or do what other large social media sites do, add the spreading of potentially lives endangering covid misinformation to the TOS or automatically include a notice to a list with common misconceptions, conspiracy theories and anti-vaxxers misnformation. Not getting vaxxed is an individual choice, spreading bs reasoning concerns everyone and letting it spread is irresponsible and guilt by inaction.
Arguing isn’t a goal, it’s a means to refute bs. The bs-er‘s mind doesn’t have to be changed. Can’t change the pope’s mind either and everytime he repeats bs it should be countered.
This^^
I used to but I’m done calling out the bullshit. If the powers that be here are going to allow it, why waste my time? Vaccine discussions should be pulled from this thread also, as there are other threads dedicated to vaccine discussion.Or do what other large social media sites do, add the spreading of potentially lives endangering covid misinformation to the TOS or automatically include a notice to a list with common misconceptions, conspiracy theories and anti-vaxxers misnformation. Wonderful idea!maybe RIU should get rid of Politcs?
What about pro-vaxx misinformation? Why should that be allowed?Or do what other large social media sites do, add the spreading of potentially lives endangering covid misinformation to the TOS or automatically include a notice to a list with common misconceptions, conspiracy theories and anti-vaxxers misnformation.
you would not say that if you did not routinely get your hat handed to you by those who call you on your broken logic. Your solution: silence everybody.Wonderful idea!
anecdote, one of your pet abuses of reason. What about pro-vaxx misinformation? Why should that be allowed?
This is clear misinformation:

How is the reality that I am able to find VAERS report, which the "fact check" article asserts does not exist, in any way anecdotal?anecdote, one of your pet abuses of reason.
No, I just don't really think this subforum is appropriate for a weed message board. But so long as you guys just keep telling one side of the story, I will continue to give alternate perspectives.you would not say that if you did not routinely get your hat handed to you by those who call you on your broken logic. Your solution: silence everybody.
just, wow.
That is your extreme-minority opinion. No, I just don't really think this subforum is appropriate for a weed message board.
You don't know that. Put up a poll, and we'll see what the majority opinion really is.That is your extreme-minority opinion.
Polls aren't reality and can be subjective based upon poller and pollee. You don't know that. Put up a poll, and we'll see what the majority opinion really is.
Do you have a different suggestion for determining what the majority opinion actually is?Polls aren't reality and can be subjective based upon poller and pollee.
It's about science, not polling of the uninformed and ignorant. I dunno how many times you've been told that VAERS is a reporting system and not scientific data and that antivaccers who spread disinformation try to use it regularly. It is a reporting system designed for qualified people to conduct studies on the accumulated data, and when they do, the claims of those who use the raw data to spout bullshit are disproven. Science is about finding the truth, not about confirming biases and prejudices. You don't know that. Put up a poll, and we'll see what the majority opinion really is.
OK. Even is that's the case, it's irrelevant to this particular situation. The fact is that Desselle's injury was "debunked" by Wired, simply because they said that they couldn't find a VAERS report on Jan 23rd 2021. This "fact check" has been repeated by many other mainstream media outlets. The real fact, which you can double check yourself, is that the report was indeed submitted to VAERS on Jan 20th 2021 (the same day that she visited the doctor, as previously evidenced).I dunno how many times you've been told that VAERS is a reporting system and not scientific data and that antivaccers who spread disinformation try to use it regularly. The poll I suggested would be to determine if the majority of users of RIU feel that the "Politics" subforum should stay or go. I feel like you somehow aren't paying attention here. It's about science, not polling of the uninformed and ignorant.
But here you are. Such conviction. No, I just don't really think this subforum is appropriate for a weed message board.
Aren’t they like alternative facts? But so long as you guys just keep telling one side of the story, I will continue to give alternate perspectives.
winner winner chicken dinnerBut here you are. Such conviction.
Aren’t they like alternative facts?
It's about ignoring the noise and tuning into the signal, that signal is called science and it will settle these issues. Argue with an engineer about the design of a bridge, if you want, but the engineer will win in the end, if he has the consensus of his profession behind him, though there are mad engineers, just like there are mad scientists and even those with MDs.The poll I suggested would be to determine if the majority of users of RIU feel that the "Politics" subforum should stay or go. I feel like you somehow aren't paying attention here.
it is against the tos though derailing a thread is against the rules consistent back and forth arguing is as well always has been i know youre not a fan of mine, but actually had alot more positive response in politics now than not except from a select group of peopleSo what? But why do you care? Nothing against TOS; they're just talking getting to meat and bone- this is debate..if you're going to complain all the time then maybe RIU should get rid of Politcs?
You're killing it for us.
