what's a oscar? what's a nute (i thot it was nutrients)? what's a hydro shop (i'm guessing hydroponic grow?)?

I'm in the hippy scene since the 60s, but some of the newer generational slang eludes me. And especially in RIU,
i know nothing of growing, other than a couple, or three, failed lame attempts. I've just learned a shit load about
growing and cannabis since joining RIU back in Sept. Love it. :)

It’s nice that you don’t have to make up some kind of affliction to get legal weed anymore. Always thought that was such bs but then again you can’t get to full rec without med weed first.

My best friend of 55 years owed me a big favor back in those days . I told him all he had to do was give me a ride up to Worms Way in Mass so I could get a couple 1000 watt halides , he hemmed and hawed but then I saw something click and just said okay .

We went , I got my lights and we left for home . About 10 miles down the road he pulled into a parking lot and told me to get out and look at his license plate , asking if I noticed anything wrong . I'm like nope looks fine .

He pulled out a bottle of alcohol and a rag , proceeding to wipe off the White Out he'd used to alter his plate number . Damn good job he did !

Our first hydroshop was an electrical contractor outfit with a hydro shop in front. A big shoutout to the old hydroshop i used to go to in San Jose Ca back in the day. Was Hahns lighting. They’re closed now but I would borrow other peoples cars and be worried I was being followed all the way home. Good times.

I'm in Michigan and the last few years there are cops everywhere at events like Back to the Bricks in Flint, people smoking huge bongs and dab rigs right on the sidewalks with zero issue even though its completely illegal to smoke weed in public. Not to mention when rec happened a couple years ago Michigan made it legal for anyone 21+ to grow up to 12 plants in a secure area non-visible to the public eye but we have people growing pot fields without issue...

Interesting times. My inner criminal wishes it was still illegal some days. It ain't the same.

We had gang of 4 for about 30 years of guerilla growing . We were all were friends from school , still friends today .

Had our shit planned to the minute for drop offs and pick ups , all our stories straight , matching and unwaivering . Nobody was allowed in the group or to mention a word outside of it .

There was an "us against them" attitude and an implicit sense of trust . Not once did one of us break the rules and we had a shit ton of adventures .

We made great money and even better memories . Who'd have ever figured that the days of prohibition would end up being the good old days ?

I remember a non descript building , fill out a form , told someone I can’t sleep / got a winky eye or some shit.

Instant laminated card.

Back then, it was so heat just to buy a lamp many of our first lamps were heisted off a sign, or when they had them on the ground lighting up the front of the building was the easiest. Grab, pull, sparks ... Run. Lmao. Still have one of those somewhere.... I'd gut them, and put the parts inside an electrical subpanel box and run wire leads to the hood. Ah good times. I miss the old days. Such a rapscallion I was....

The neighbor here took her 16 year old grandson in and he told them he had anxiety. Medical card right there.

I just was thinking of doing that the other day to travel out of state to buy legal cannabis.
Only I was going to use colored tape on my plates instead of white out. Damn good idea. :)
