What light do you have ? You say you have watered 3 times in 7 days,do you water/feed til you get some runoff?

Water I get like 10 liters run off from 30 liter watering. Lots of run off I make sure it's going crazy overflowing. Hand watering for now, but it drains through some pipe into a waste bucket and I tip that out. Over ten liters per water I only mix up 30 liters.

That was freshly transplanted, they are getting bigger and more roots now they need watering at least once a day. Can't wait till I set up a auto watering system this week lol

I got 4 x 25 watt LEDs down bottom half of tent and up top got a 250watt cfl.

Imo,you need more light and also to make sure your entire medium is being saturated each time. You can use a wetting agent like Yucca in your water or even a drop of dish soap .Ensure that it's legit runoff and not running around the rootball .I'm an outdoor grower but most water coco at least daily to help avoid dry spots in the media

Hey guys, it's progressing, over Xmas things have been closed, going too get calmag too add too my feeds potentially. But brought some magnesium sulfate.

I fed with magnesium sulphate, I played around with 1 liter of water and figured out how much too use, I read hydro magnesium ppm required too treat magnesium deficiency was 50 top 150ppm. Very hard too find solid answers, so I'm just having a crack and I'll leave my findings in this forum regarding how much magnesium sulfate too add too a hydroponic reservoir, feeding coco plants with a magnesium deficiency.

So yeah measure your water before u mix nutes and experiment with a teaspoon and then observe changes in ppm, and figure out ratios and do the math too target your desired ppm.

Like I said, all I can find about how many ppm of magnesium too add, said add 1 teaspoon per liter or oer gallon, ect.

I used 1/4 tsp (one quarter of one teaspoon) per 5 liters of water in my res. It brought ppm up 100pmm.

It measured 380ppm 0.76ec, out of the tap.

I added The 1/4 teaspoon, raised it too around 500ppm and 1 ec. And fed at 5.9 PH with all the regular nutrients.

I'm not sure this is enough but anyways. Trial and error. If anyone has anything too add regarding how much ppm does calmag add too their nutrient solution, have they used epsom salts or magnesium sulfate or other supplement correction nutrients when correcting deficiencys, how many ppm have they used ect.

I seen a fair bit of info regarding dosage in soil, but if I used anywhere near that much in my res the ppm would have been 5000 and a ec of 10.

It would have Fried my plants.

Here's a photo, plants also stressed for 2 days while rearranging the grow tent, and completing the automatic watering system.

As you can see this is one of the worst leaves, most are green. But this is showing itself more clearly. Will see if it clears up over time.

Will double ppm of the magnesium sulfate after 1 week and see if that helps if it doesn't resolve and might use cal mag on a few at the same time as when I double the mag/sulf, too see which one works better, IF the already prescribed treatment doesn't work.

They have been in the pots for 16 days post transplant, the first 7 or so days, they water drenched, and 30 percent run off, more then what people recommend.

They just had zero root mass so they were not drinking, pots were just as heavy as when I first watered them, within 7 days they basically had roots through the whole medium, so then I started needed too water them every day or 2, optimally a day. As quick as I could mix a batch of nutes and hand water, it was taking approx 1 hour. And I realised I needed a res and pump and auto water.

So I changed the tent up, I had custom shelves made from corrugated iron and tarp, dodgy, changed too timber plywood lined with builders plastic and staples, siliconed it down and also made a 40mm pvc drain

Installed 8 irrigation points for 8 plants.

It's a veg tent setup for 8 plants now on led. Will have 200 watts of TLED 24watt bars. Circulation and exhaust fan. 750watt submersible pump is serious overkill but I didn't wanna buy a new one I had this thing new in the box sitting in shed. Very large took a bit of playing around too figure out dispersal from water heads too not damage the plants with high pressure.

It floods 8 pots in about 10 seconds, I will flood 3 or 4 times in a few mins it's very quick and powerful. Drains perfectly. Need too put some clay balls where the water jets out so it protects against erosion.

Got a 200 liter res nearly completed, right now just using a 60 liter temporary res, recirculating it actually for 2 day periods.

But the 200 liter res once completed will be all running too waste. And not recirculating at all.

Should only have too mix 2 times a week or adjust Cut my Labor from 7 hours a week too about 1 hour a week I believe approx.

Now they will be watered as much as they can handle which I'm not sure yet. I'll have too just observe and find out.

It's very fine grade of coco. 100% fine coco.

I'll start with 2 times a day.

I am so used too letting the pot become light before watering, but I'll see how 2 big waters a day go approx every 12 hours, temps are stable 70-75 farrenheight 24 hours a day.

Nah, calcium issues start to look like freckles along the leaf spine, this looks like faded discoloration between the leaf margins typical of magnesium deficiency. I think personally it's nothing to worry about right now, unless it progresses. It probably won't.

What u think bro ?

If your water comes out of the tap at .7 ec you should consider that 0. So your target ec is 1, 1.7 is what you should be mixing.
You are starving your plants.
Ok, thanks for the information and suggestion, I can surely give this a go, expect I'll find and link the article, from a cannabis growing forum, some guy going into great detail saying that is way too much, that 0.7 is really hard and I should target like 1.2 Max ec

Buy an ec meter... .7 ec from the tap isnt .7 nutrient solution.
You should call that 0 and add to it accordingly.

You are literally starving your plants with less than 200ppm of actual feed

I've just watched more videos on cannabis growing on YouTube, hydroponically.

It says if my tap water is 400ppm, or 0.8 EC. Then my water is hard and I have too take that into account when setting targets.

If I want too hit 1.5 ec, I already am at 0.8 ec. If I mix nutes and pretend the water is 0 ec, then I will end up with a ec of 2.3EC which will be way too high.

I am going too get a RO water filter, too get my baseline ec down. So I can add 1 whole ec of nutrients vs 0.2 or 0.3ec.

Plants will be getting 400ppm more actual nutrients and no chlorine and crap who knows what's in it.

As for EC, at 1.1 or 1.2 they are still early in veg, they are still growing great, they just look deficient in magnesium

All a ppm meter does is convert ec to ppm. Plenty of charts online to help you reverse the math there
It measures ec. In uS. Micro siemens
Convert too EC. It works.

What I've been wondering is what ppm scale is my pen, and what ppm scale does my nutes use

Well about 5 hours of research today, I finally found out and comprehended my pen operated by default on the 500ppm scale, and my nutes run on 700ppm scale.

Took me a while but I figured out how too change my pen from 500ppm too 700ppm scale.

I've been under feeding.

My EC is 1.1 and ppm is 800.

The nutrients call for 1400ppm and 2 EC.

With the 500ppm system could only get 1000ppm before hitting 2EC.

At least I am on the right scales now with the nutes and the pen.

I will choose my strongest plant and give it a full big feed ?

Will be nearly doubling the ppm and EC.

And we will see what happens.

Also will feed the mag sulfate.
