Hi i am new around here and new to growing.
I hope i can get some help where i am living is very cold at the moment its been -7°C (19.4°F) the last few days.
My grow is indoor but it is inside a non insulated shed inside a 4ft x 4ft grow tent I have an electric heater in the tent but it is costing me a fortune to run it I have it plugged in to a smart plug and it has been costing an average of €10 ($10) per day to run the heater.

Ideally I would insulate the whole shed but its not possible at the moment as the shed is full of tools and I would have to do a clear out of the shed to try and insulate it.
So I was thinking if i just insulate the tent I was thinking of using something like double bubble reflective foil insulation around the out side of the tent. https://www.amazon.com/Double-Bubble-Reflective-Foil-Insulation/dp/B07G63TCQM

What is people's thoughts on using something like this?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

As mentioned above, foam board will help. How many watts is the heater? I have a 3.5x5ft (about 16sq ft) and i use an amazon 500w heater connected to inkbird 308. It does the job quite well.

I grow in a non-heated shed in canada.

Im looking in to the foam boards at the moment they seem to have gone up in price a good bit locally

my heater is a 2KW heater but only comes on if the temp drops to below 20°C and goes off when it gets to 23°C but with the cold out at the moment it must be coming on most of the time.

Sweet
I draped it over side to side then back to front, over the thermal boards and polystyrene.
Bit of clear bubble wrap in the mix too. I'm not proud lol

Make sure and insulate the floor.
Get a couple of heatmat too.
Rigid thermal boards round the sides and top. The thicker the better but they get pricey. 25mm thick would do on a budget.
My grow temperatures are cool but I do ok.

Hang up some blankets as insulation. Definitely insulate the floor under the tent. Slow down your extraction fans. Look for an oil radiator heater and seedling mats for more money friendly heating options.
