Trudeau interrupted the interpreter once he realized he was being scolded. I thought he handled it pretty well considering he was blind sided.

I wish he told Xi that when you’re the leader of a democracy, you can’t put your thumb on the press, like he can.

no...he's the leader of one of the most powerful nations on earth, and he had a private conversation with another world leader, that was immediately leaked to the press...i'd say Trudeau got about what he deserves...of course what he will actually get is left out of the loop in any further important conversations China engages in...and who else will trust him and his aids to keep their mouths shut when they behave this way? if Biden of any other world leader did the same, they'd deserve the same.

He isn't taking to Biden or another democratic leader, he is taking to an imperialist despot who does not deserve the honor. When you discuss policy that affects billions the democratic way is to share things so people can make up their own minds. Xi has no interest in what people think, he is an imperialist and the people have no say, what they think about global trade or climate change matters as much as what Putin's conscripts think about the fucking war. Biden would have told the American people about policy discussions with Trudeau in a joint press conference. Xi just grabbed for total power in China until he dies, fuck him, respect is earned not a given. Would anybody miss much from this lying sack of shit, make a press release.

My thoughts exactly. But since I’m a critical thinker I question my thoughts and wonder, was he blind sided, was this not something he could have expected? Then after more nano seconds wondering I conclude Xi is someone who puts millions in concentration camps, guilty of genocide. He’s the worst kind of scum, why is that dog (chinese love calling people dogs as if there’s something wrong with dogs, ok they’re retarted but still(the dogs i mean :D ) talking to a respectable person like Trudeau like that. No reason justifies that scenario. Losing face is the worst thing that can happen to a Chinese like Xi, worse than death, cultural thing. While Trudeau handled it well considering, it’s wasn’t meant as lightly as it is taken.

I laughed at the comment that Canada should be left out of important discussions with China. As if what China says in discussions means anything.

so you only act honorably towards people you approve of? the actions of others justify your reactions?
if you agree to have a private conversation with someone, but you don't really like them, that justifies broadcasting that information, given in confidence?
it's a good idea to reinforce the suspicions of a suspicious regime, for petty points? and then to give a flippant, arrogant answer when confronted about it?
i see, i must have seriously misunderstood the concept of personal honor and integrity, because it appears to me that at the moment, the chinese have more...

It's not a question of privacy, if he was talking public policy with a despot.
The guy is a murdering asshole and despot, no different than Putin, but apparently smarter.
They held 2 innocent Canadians for years, in shitty conditions and threatened execution because we arrested a Chinese princess for Uncle Sam in BC where she lived on bail in a mansion while Trump dicked around. Fuck him He has millions of Uyghurs in concentration camps and is committing genocide FFS. Now he wants to eliminate the Cantonese culture and language in China, he's a POS.
