But they flesh out laws. The world is complex and to get stuff done you can not have every little detail stuck in a law. There is only so much time for legislators to debate and pass laws.
So you think that it's healthy for a democracy to have unelected officials create "laws" which are not codified by an electoral process? If so, do you feel the same way when the "other side" is in control of those same regulatory agencies and create "laws" which you disagree with?

If the federal government decided to regulate guns and had a law allowing it, then the agency in charge would set the details. The details are too complex in all industries for the law to manage and they must delegate the responsibilities to agencies. If they identify a new dangerous environmental toxin, do you want action, or a bill in a dead locked congress? The financial world world would go nuts with out regulations made by agencies, often these are passed by congressional panels of elected officials. You don't need laws covering the details, take hate crimes for instance, a general law can do and a jury can decide, usually on video evidence these days.

You're right, IF the laws are well written, and give the regulatory agencies the discretion to make such determinations. Unfortunately that's often not the case, as illustrated in this particular situation.

Well I guess elect democrats and get proper laws written, the republicans are useless at governing and an impediment to necessary change. That's aside from being a bunch of racist traitors with terrorist and propaganda wings required to keep them alive. They are losers, who like Trump know they need to cheat to win, only an asshole could support of vote for them.

Democrats have had a lot of time to write "proper laws". Too bad they didn't have the foresight to do so in this case.

Nothing gets passed with the republicans in the senate and filibuster, not even voting rights legislation to level the playing field for themselves, you know this, not to mention two corrupt democratic senators, though all 50 republicans are corrupt.

America will have to address carbon emissions, or sanctions will be imposed eventually, aside from largely republican areas becoming unlivable or underwater eventually. America only controls about 20% of the global economy at this point and that number is diminishing yearly, so it needs to be taken seriously, the free ride is over, or soon will be.

Trouble with the truth? Fascists usually do, Trump and Putin among them. Plenty of fascists in America too, only there they call them republicans. Is it hate to ask if you support the constitution, rule of law and liberal democracy? Republicans clearly don't and have a domestic terrorist wing and a propaganda wing, while the political part games the system and the works of them are at cold civil war with America and it's founding ethos (look up the words).

Goebbels summed it up for you folks and Trump, accuse the other side of what you yourself are guilty of.

Well Texas is doing stupid shit because they have a republican government, they might not have one in November, Texas is not as red as people think. If you support the republicans and their horseshit then it applies, if not, then it doesn't, it's that simple.

My interest is in liberal democracy and I actually know the tribalism that motivates republicans, many of them are at civil war with America. They have a fuzzyheaded "greater cause" than democracy, the constitution, the rule of law, common decency or sense, their religion and even their own families, all have been divided by Trump's lies, reinforced by the republicans. There are not both sides are the same here, clearly one side is not on the side of the constitution and are psychologically at war with some of their fellow citizens. They put this bullshit ahead of their own self interest FFS so something is jerking their chain real fucking hard. Remember it was Trump and the republican's lies which ripped the country and families apart, foxnews amplified it for profit and spread the poison. Now they based hundreds of voting restrictions and laws in the red states on the big lie and used it as a justification, after the fairest election in American history.

If you have a point of view spit it out, I'm for liberal democracy and free and fair elections, the rule of law under the constitution interpreted by fairly appointed professional judges using the law, not the Bible or ideology. Normal politics requires good will and common cause, that is not something the republicans do, they do cold civil war.

No, we just tell the truth, if the pile of steaming bullshit fits, wear it.
I'm a southerner, i don't feel threatened or ostracized.
I have better sense than to live in texas or to be a republican.
There are some good people in texas, but not a single one of them votes republican.
republicans are fascist authoritarians, who are trying to subvert our constitution, and kill democracy so they can replace it with a fascist state that they have sole control over...

When I read something and it makes me say to myself "well whoever wrote that is dumb as shit, just a real stupid fucker with nothing to add to the conversation." it tends to always be folks of a certain persuasion, they aren't good at being subtle about which way they lean.

Morans!
