Damn it's hot.
Plants are growing. I had to change my plans. I was going to try and go with nothing but cannabis JLF for nutrients but It wasn't cutting it so I had to adapt and supplement with some additional food. It might have worked if I had used a richer soil but I used Black Gold Natural and Organic that I got at Fred Meyers. It's not a bad soil but there isn't much in it. Had I been thinking I would have added some compost and EWC since I have plenty of it. I don't know why I didn't. They're doing okay now though so I got on it in time.
The ones in the second photo have really started stretching and have been throwing preflowers for quite awhile. They're half Egyptian Sinai which can exhibit semi autoflowering traits so I'm hoping it will be quick to flower and quick to finish. I don't know how that strain will turn out but I took a couple clones awhile back so if it's anything good I'll play with it a little over the winter and probably make some feminized seeds.
The plants have been in the same spots throughout this heat in their 3.5 gallon pots. I soak them in the morning and give them a top up late afternoon.
I've also been testing a bee safe, 100% natural insecticide I've been working on. I don't have any bugs or bites that I've seen on any of the plants so I think it's working. One of my concerns was how it would affect the leaves. I've been spraying every 3-4 days and there's been no damage. One of my concerns was potential phytotoxicity due to the heat but no problems. So I'm happy about that. The spray is so safe that you could drink it without any ill effects. I tested that on myself but won't be doing it again as it tastes like crap.
I hope everyone's plants are growing good.
