said things out of anger
Totally understandable, people get frustrated, especially when they feel they are being treated poorly. If I were in your shoes I would be frustrated too. Here is hoping when it ends you are happy. That FC 8000 does do a fantastic job when it is working correctly so at least you should end up happy once all is sorted. Good luck.

Don't let these people make you feel bad. Mars didn't care until you went public with your concerns of their lights burning down your house.
LOL, could just be one person he has been going back and forth with at the company. Can't blame the whole company for that no more than you can blame the end user with getting frustrated. You make pretty bold blanket statements about a place that could just be blamed on 1 bad employee.

Definitely not the company's fault, just the rogue employee who they hired to handle customer service. The same guy probably also wired up the light.

In the end it is the companies fault as they are responsible for their employees and their actions. Guess you have never run into a bad employee anywhere? If you did was the entire company than uncaring because of the responses of that one person? You are just generalizing too much. So far he has been going back and forth with someone online and now a rep here. The one in the email was giving the user the options that are laid out in their terms of service. Time to see what the rep here does as they offered to help.

Things like this are why I'm in no hurry to replace my HID. I've been running HID's for decades and have not had one instance of anything coming close to starting a fire. New technology = new problems. With all these LED manufacturers in a race to beat out the competitors in both price and performance things will slip through the cracks. This may be the first time this has been brought to anyone's attention on this forum but this forum is likely just a small fraction of people using these lights. Chances are if it hasn't already happened it will happen again with equipment using the same components.

It's not just MARS but all of these companies trying to survive in an extremely competitive market. There have been posts of other brands of LED lights that had serious issues as well. People pay $75,000 for a Tesla only to watch it burn up on the side of the road. No matter how strict quality controls are something can always go wrong with brand new products from any manufacturer.

You forgot to add all are sponsored growers for mars running free gear
Being sponsored does not mean a grower cannot be honest. People should not conflate those 2 things. Anyone being sponsored should be honest no matter how it looks to the company. This would be why I stated I did not like their policy with regards to returns. If one is not willing to be open and honest one has no business reviewing products.

code is RIU100 ??
LOL, you can feel free to use the code "Dawson" ;-)

"This" rolled into our local Cars n Coffee. Fully functionally restored but still everything melted to shit, lol! Only thing "pristine" is the driver's seat.

you’d be kinda sceptic about the results of a study done about sugar consumptions effect on human health if it was funded by coca cola
I don't disagree, folks can be as skeptical as they wish. I mean I could be pulling all my plants out of their tents after I take pics and putting them some place else. I also make it a point of telling folks my equipment was received for free and that they should form their own opinions.

I'm not sponsored. In fact I declined a sponsorship. I did in fact win the light for free and all I'm doing is documenting a journal which I do here and there anyways. I gave both good and bad feedback on the product and I never tell someone they should buy mars gear but I do however offer my experience with the product and for me it's been great so that's what I say... I am however, grateful to mars for hooking me up so I won't just jump on a hate train. All facts need to be presented otherwise you're just basing your opinion on someone else potentially biased opinion without all the facts.
YOU WANT THE TRUTH?
Did you order the code Red?!
YOURE GODDAMN RIGHT I DID!

The problem is that many put greed over honesty. Many will say whatever they think they need to say if it means getting something for free. I'm not saying that's you but it is many people.

I've been offered free gear like many on the forum have. I declined as I didn't want to be constrained by some agreement they wanted me to make.

I agree 100%, some have zero integrity to begin with. Some don't even need sponsorship but will defend a product just because they purchased it and want their choice validated by others. It's unfortunate but still a fact regardless.

doug man i’m not questioning your integrity by any means. i’m not qualified to judge anyone anyway. as long as you also find and state the negatives about the free shit you’ve been given with as big of an emphasis as you’d put on the positive shit, i wouldnt expect anything more from a sponsored grower or grow. some or most dont do that so people are sceptical understandably.
