Certain things do not require a burden of proof to be a fact, but conversely they do require burden of proof to be disproved as a fact.

Was thinking more how relatability leads to empathy. I think fellowship is a component of a relationship, but empathy does not require any association with people/s.

It's nature/psychology, nothing to do with "me". The more similarities people share, the easier it becomes for people to relate, and the easier it is to relate, the easier it is to empathize. And you'll notice I mentioned the city as well, because it's not about skin color, it's about similarities. It's all perceivable similarities. Of course the irony being that for some reason you didn't notice the part about Kiev and only noticed the part about people and that was all you could see, then you complained about "this race thing". Pretty funny.

I don't disagree that people are more likely to be empathetic towards others to whom they share a fellowship with vs those whom they do not. However in the scenario which you laid out, I don't believe that empathy is as much of a factor as the fellowship is.
