Where ya live fam, sun must be baking there, thats a smart idea to put the shade cloth on, you mean that green one? Would enough light still get through?
What kind of screens did you used for keeping the pests out?
The thing about the glass structure is that it have those hydraulic piston valves (I dont remember how its called) that valve which expands and open the Top window when its hot, the cheapo premade tunnel poly tunnel available here lasts few seasons(which is not a problem but if it would last it would be bonus) , got that shading cloth and uv protection already built in but it has side windows instead of top, looking at it I would either opt out for replacing doors (with maybe screen for better air exchange.

on diy hoophouse you can modify this to whatever you want i.e keep the bottom rolled up to let the air flow right?
this costs about 120 bucks from where Im from,
shit like this around 500 depends on the lenght and thickness of the polycarbonate
I consider it tougher to vent in summer even through those small top door windows open on both sides
this with top opening cost about 700,

compared to the green shaded structure above it seems to last longer and is obviously tougher and since heat traps usually at the top it seems like a better option overall.
But the thing that was mentioned here, that it blocks uv ( I only thouught polycarbonate affects light dispersion)
I hate auto dwarfs, to me its a waste of space a couple of big mommas work better for me, but if this wont let me grow type of medicine that glass greenhouse let me, then I would go with glass. I mean if my yield and buzz would be affected in big way, I would like to avoid it.
People tends to avoid diy projects if they dont have materials already collected since, the materials itself are usually more expensive when you buy them, than these premade structures
Im really intrigued by how your diy structure might look like with the screens on sides etc ( I might have some source for cheapo polycarbonate roof)
I really wonder if wind and air flow through there easily.
I mainly would use the structure for purpose of concealment and protection from rain and other natural elements.
