Yes! Covid's jacked prices of mountain homes even further west than Asheville (like way out in Cherokee). Remote worker revolution. For example, if I recall, NC is a state with 100 counties, yet most people flock to areas around cities like Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington, and to some degree, Asheville. Consequently, there are deals to be had in ~96 counties (fewer every year). Deals near the coast between VA and NC's Outer Banks. Deals in/around Elizabeth City. But if you have to live near your job, you're going to pay $100-300k+ more for a house.North Carolina has beaches on one side and mountains on the other. It's a little too far south for much snow. Asheville is a really cool town.
