You should believe things which are self evident.

Governments are coercion based. Coercion based systems aren't what brings peace.
It's impossible to have a coercion based system, which is what government is, to protect the populace from people who might coerce them. That is self evident.

You can't use guns or threaten to use guns offensively against otherwise peaceful people and create a safe and sane society. That is self evident.
Are guns behind every edict from government, even if a person is peaceful and simply wants to be left alone? Yes, they are.

I think you just get mad when people don't go along with your ideas and then you want to punish them, rather than leave them alone. Try persuasion rather than threats.

I will pass on swallowing your con that using force against otherwise peaceful people is a good idea.

To the best of my knowledge I've only known one card carrying member. At one point when my wife was working at the ag ext office, her boss was in Bosnia with the guard. He was the ag agent for the county but he also ran a Styrofoam plant. The guy he had hired to run things while he was gone was a proud libertarian. He was trained in chemistry in the army, so he did know how to make the foam. And he did know how to make the cuts to fill the orders. And to drive the loads to where they needed to go. But none of that was getting done. So the boss man ask me to step in and lend a hand.

What I found was a guy who spent half the day hanging paper. I had never seen a check kiter in action, so it was a learning experience for me. He would run five or six checks a day through the various banks in town trying to keep one from bouncing. I worked with him almost two years. He was consistent in not being dependable. I was supposed to only drive the truck. But when I would go to work the order would not have been cut yet. And even when we got the orders out, the quality of the foam was not good. We lost over half of our customers while I worked there. I hung in there until the boss got back from Bosnia, but the business didn't make it. He ended up selling the next year.

Small sample size, but 100% of the libertarians I know are pretty much worthless.

All of those rivers in the USA you mention caught on fire before there was an EPA. Sorry.

The last river in the USA that caught fire was in 1969, the EPA was formed Dec 2, 1970. NO rivers in the USA have caught on fire since.

You obviously didn't read that but thanks for your feed back, it states in the article the last one was 2015 but ok even in the 70's was not that long ago. So when did we become civilized?
