As Thanksgiving approaches and we try to figure out how to bring together a menu that satisfies a family with a range in diets that goes from 20's something female vegan to teenage male carnivore, as well as lactose intolerant and gluten intolerant, I like to think about things for which I'm thankful.

One year ago, Trump still held the office of president and today, he is looking in from the outside. Democrats hold the Senate, the House and the Presidency. What a difference a year makes. Thankful I am.

i make 'stations'..the most popular with my family in the past was the panini station- millennials love experience i had all the fixings to make your own paninis (including the maker) and it was a hit!..same with ice cream social. part of the enjoyment of the day comes from being together; creating together. i don't stop at one station either. those with special dietary needs can choose the items compatible for themselves.

those times no longer happen though.

Thanks guys for the suggestions. We are talking about making pizzas. I have a gas fired pizza oven, one of our clan is a baker, he will make the dough and just about everybody likes pizza and knows what they like. For the gluten intolerant, they will get dosa pizzas instead. The plan is, set up stations (thanks sky) with toppings and people make their own. I'm not making the pizza pies, just cooking them. Everybody gets involved. Did I forget to mention beer? Yes, there will be beer.

From thanksgiving until Christmas will be a tough time for Trump I figure, so there might soon be something to be thankful for. Next year they can debate his trials and how he looked in orange on TV in Georgia, perhaps many republicans will be fighting among themselves this year, those who love Donald and those who think he should go away.
