I cut my plant down Friday night and some parts are feeling very dry. Is it possible they need to go over to jars already? No stems are snapping except for very small ones.
Yes, it's possible depending on the temp, RH, and airflow in your drying area. Mine usually feel dry on the outside by the time I put in jars. Then some moisture is drawn out from the inside during the cure. I would jar the ones with snapping stems....if they feel dry on the outside already.I cut my plant down Friday night and some parts are feeling very dry. I leave the lid loose on the Mason jars the first night. I usually jar around day 4 actually, but burp daily for awhile.I just put in a zip bag and leave it open a crack.Youll see tons of people trim their shit wet then hang and wonder why its dry so fast.
Every 12 to 24 hrs, check to see if the buds are too moist. If they are too moist, dump them onto a clean surface and let dry more before putting back in jars.I put about 25% in jars. Mostly smaller pieces that weren’t on big stems
How moist is too moist? I have a hydrometer in there reading about 60% humidity. When I touch them the stems snap a little and buds feel sticky.Every 12 to 24 hrs, check to see if the buds are too moist. I try to keep mine in the 58% to 60% range. I see a lot of people say 62% is their ideal, but I like it a tad bit drier. If the hygrometer says 60%, that's good. Just open once a day for the first week or so to exchange the air.How moist is too moist? I have a hydrometer in there reading about 60% humidity.
