Pot Size For Organics

Hi there, I’m flowering in a 2x4 tent and will soon be getting ready for the transition into bloom.

I’ve been using 5gal fabric pots but read on here 5gal pots don’t leave much room for the microbial sphere around the roots.

I can currently fit 4, 5gal pots in my tent. Do you think I’d have a better outcome planting two plants in a single 15gal pot? If the tent will hold 2, 15gal pots, I’d be adding an additional 10gals of soil between the two pots even though the larger pot would be shared with another plant.

if your soil is good, you can flower in 5gal pots....js

if i wanted to do OLS (organic living soil) i wouldn't do anything less than 20gal.

nothing much, just watching the garden during the weekends and working during the week. Been doing pretty good overall.......lost one...how?

think it was water stress...dry spot in the soil shocked the plant, it's just a working theory i honestly don't know what happened..could be disease, fungus on roots. shit happens.

yeah it does.....

sometimes it's hard to narrow down problems.......so you just chalk it up...as another learned lesson......i know that lesson so many time.....it's you sit there with a beer and scratch your head....and go "WTF"

i was thinking the other day...i dont know how to diagnose all these "help whats wrong with my plant" threads cuz i dont see problems....it usually just goes smoothly

that's kinda the same with me as well, when it comes to diagnose a plant that someone else is growing it makes it really hard, you know when you grow what to look for and maybe head things off, but when it comes to someone elses...it's a trip into the roladex of your mind.

With some of my stuff, it's most of the time goes smoothly...why cause i know what the soil is, and it's made from......but when you go to someone else, it throws you for a loops......

I’m in a 2x4 as well and recently switched to two patio picker sips and am very excited to get plants into them might be worth checking out. Good luck

They list it as holding 1.5 cubic ft (11 gal), I’ve got just 7.5 gallons in them right now but with mounding I’m pretty sure you could do around 15 in each. Earth box is brand that seems higher quality if you just want one but the dimensions for two just don’t work in a 2x4.

might wanna think bout using 1 first, so to see how they work for you..........and also make sure there is plenty of drainage....i;ve notice in new pots when you purchase don't have the holes in the bottom for drainage...

those do look pretty sweet for a guy trying to save his back, with those legs and lower decking. very cool id do that i have a tall tent

yeah with me looking at them.....think if i had to.... work those in an outside grow...if he can.........

i was just thinking about them......think i would do outside seedlings in them and them move the seedlings into pot......with the dimension....take 4 small seedling pot push them into the soil..then start the seedling

it's made of plastic, our outdoors would eat one of those within 2 yrs or less

Given I’ve already got two for sure gonna try and do them both, but if it seems one is the call I’ll definitely do that in the future. I’m not sure drainage is much of an issue for these because the water wicks up from the bottom but regardless there’s tons of drainage between the soil and reservoir.

yeah it would, might last longer if it was under a car port or on a cover porch, it would be quicker if you were at the coast line cause of the salty air.....
