GM: We’ll Sell 1 Million EVs by 2025
The company now expects to sell more than 1 million all-electric vehicles by 2025, Barra said. It so far has launched only two: the Chevrolet Bolt EV and the Bolt EUV.
Tesla is producing almost 1 million cars a year right now & they have 2 new Gigafactories due to come online this year. By 2025 Tesla will be manufacturing 1 million cars a quarter. It all comes down to battery tech where Tesla has an ever expanding lead. I believe as these legacy auto manufactures lose market share and begin to close factories, Tesla will swoop in and resurrect them much like the NUMMI factory in Fremont...
Tesla has a total cash on hand of 11 billion. GM just committed 3 times that.

Tesla should be worried. When GM and Volkswagen et. al. come fully on line, economies of scale will come into play. Im betting Tesla is bought in the next ten years to be the brand of a corporate conglomerate. Musk has had his ten years of free play, and never really took advantage of it. $50,000 for the lowest range model 3? lol
The legacy manufactures are too far behind at this point, I can see Tesla buying up Ford or GM the next time they file for bankruptcy.

Autocar reports that the Fremont-based automaker is indeed working on a hatchback priced around $25,000, scheduled to go on sale in 2023. The publication confirms that the previously undisclosed but long-speculated model will have a range around 250 miles, and will also rely on a new type of battery technology (the 4680 cells) that will cut battery production costs in half, due to come online in 2022. Autocar indicates that the upcoming hatch will be aimed pretty squarely at the Volkswagen ID.3.

lol, I've been hearing that BS from Tesla for over a decade. Wake me when their $25K option actually costs 25k andhas 250 miles of range.

Tesla Valuation: Market Cap
Its market capitalization (stock price times shares outstanding) of $629 billion ranks it sixth among companies on the U.S. stock market. The electric-car company is worth almost 8 times GM and nearly 13 times Ford. ... By this measure, TSLA is worth roughly 4 times General Motors and Ford Motor.Apr 8, 2021

Cash on hand is VASTLY different than stock valuation. Those numbers you posted are absurd, and reflect everything wrong with the stock market

Investors aren't buying the BS that GM & Ford are putting out. They are buying Tesla's vision...

Tesla will never be anything but a niche automaker. Period. They don't sell an affordable car, truck or SUV like the legacy automakers, and they never will. Next year, I'll be able to walk in a Ford dealer, plop 22k down and drive away with a new hybrid pickup that gets 40 mpg and has most of the modern tech available in other cars.
VW just started selling the I.D.4, a fully electric starting around $30k.
Chevy still sells the Bolt, fully electric, 300 miles range, and around $30k
These are just the tip of the iceberg the USS Musk is going to crash into in the next 5 years.
