I'd like to interject here and coment on the common 6 plant rule.

"Why only 6 plants?"
This is because it was seen that the traditional grower can grow 1 giant plant, with multiply strains grafted onto it, and then reveg perpetually like a vine crop. This is an inefficient method of home growing and makes the process unrealistically complicated. However if someone is producing their much needed medicine, the process works.

How much weed does one person need?

Oregon limits home-rec grow to four plants. I got 7 pounds off my four. No grafting, not cloned, just good seed.

I'm of the complete opposite argument. I'm not growing medical, I use it for sleep and fun, hence, I like growing as many plants as possible, breeding and testing every distinct cultivar. 6 plants does not work for me as I don't grow for weight.

But the line is at 6 plants regardless. Or 4 in my case. Just saying, for an individual rec grower 4 or 6 plants are plenty without need for extra plants, grafting or effort. Going from none to 4 or 6 makes me pretty happy. But, if it makes you happy, feel free to grow as little as you like from any plant. There are plenty of strategies. As you suggest, graft your heart out. Is this a complaint or are you giving advice?

We’re 4 here but it would be nice if it was 4 in flower and 4 in veg, if growing inside that would allow for mother’s and clones of a few strains. That’s just a wish list and I’m happy that it’s 4 ...... they’ve stopped looking unless it’s a field so I typically put 10 in in the summer. Cant stop being an outlaw lol.

We’re 4 here but it would be nice if it was 4 in flower and 4 in veg, if growing inside that would allow for mother’s and clones of a few strains. That’s just a wish list and I’m happy that it’s 4 ...... they’ve stopped looking unless it’s a field so I typically put 10 in in the summer. Cant stop being an outlaw lol.

It’s easy to get a license to grow more if you’re worried about it.

Nobody is checking anyway, I don't think they really wanna test the 4 plant limit in court, people have rights, not households. Growing for profit is almost over with online dispensaries selling ounces for $99 CDN, though the province here in NS pillages the people at the NSLCC. So unless ya give it away or are seriously chronic, most folks can stay inside the law.

I'm thinking about giving up growing and pot too, my buddy Al who helps a lot with my gardening recently was diagnosed with cancer. Al is a good friend as well as my grow partner and it's kinda taken whatever Joy is left in it for me, I'll be supporting him any way I can. Other than serving his needs, if any, since he quite smoking, I might put some clones in the back yard and be done with it. I'm harvesting some white widow and gorilla glue now along with a couple of seed plants and I hate it bigly!

That would be nice. I agree. What's the alternative? The status quo where none are legal? Personally, I think the entire war on drugs should be scrubbed. Everything should be legal to own, buy, smoke, inject, snort or drop. Treat addiction as a medical issue and arrest people for real crimes, not possession. Yeah, well, that's not going to happen for a while, although Oregon has begun to take steps in that direction.

Unless you deal with the black market (and I don't care if you do), I don't understand your problem. But, you do you. I'll do me. I'm not going to oppose any legislation to legalize just because it puts a limit of four or six plants for a person's rec grow. We can always change it later. I'm for progress.

I’m not lol. And I’d rather keep my name off the list. Started my first field (yes field lol) at 15 and I’m 60 now. I’ve done some pretty big grows and touch wood never been busted for growing. There was the small issue at the border though lol.

She was worried about it back in '08 when I became a DG for a quadriplegic, so I complied with rules for the MMAR at the time. The document changed to MMPR and now the ACMPR . 5 plants in a 9x48 greenhouse was a lot of work but produced well over 20lbs - his meds are gratis. An annual police background check remains in place today for the license. Nobody has ever been by to check plant count and likely never will.

Sorry to hear about your gardner/friend. Last year you inspired me to try dry ice extraction from fresh/frozen plant matter that would otherwise have been composted. For three days straight in November, we trimmed late harvest buds on the vine. Day four was spent removing the buds then off for extraction - got lots. A QP of kief has been decarbed in an Ardent FX and am waiting for lab results. The decarbed kief will be put into capsules - guessing 10mg to 80mg is possible.

For three days straight in November, we trimmed late harvest buds on the vine. Day four was spent removing the buds then off for extraction - got lots. Thanks for your message of caring and support. We have plenty of cannabis and I've got a quarter pound of 20% CBD >1% THC. Using dollar store LED light bulbs people can build grow lights pretty cheap, start small and expand. You can get the bulbs in 2700K and 5000K here and a cluster of 3 can illuminate the corners of the grow nicely. BTW the Globe brand dollar store bulbs have surprisingly good and efficient drivers.

The House of Representatives just passed the MORE Act, the first cannabis legalization bill to make it to Congress. The Act passed on Friday, December 4th, by a vote of 228 to 164. The vote was largely split down party lines, with all but six Democrats voting for the bill and all but five Republicans voting against it.

The MORE Act would decimalize marijuana at the federal level and start the process of giving back to those communities hit hardest by the War on Drugs. When Democrats took the house in 2018, cannabis advocates knew there was work to be done and a limited time to do it in. Every couple of years, more states legalize cannabis, whether for medical or recreational use. That number grew again after the November election making Federal decriminalization inevitable. With the first Democratic majority since 2011, the house and cannabis justice advocates saw their best chance to bring the federal law in line with state laws. The result was the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act.

This landmark act is the first time either chamber of Congress voted on a bill to legalize cannabis, but the Act goes much further than just decriminalizing it. The bill covers several social and justice measures that would help those communities who took the brunt of the War on Drugs while putting in place an equitable industry where those impacted most by prohibition have a seat at the table.
