Is 31 degree direct sunlight to hot for freshly planted seedlings?

So my question is. The seedlings are freshly planted. Is 31 degree direct sunlight okay for them or is it too hot ?

Hi I am just starting out with a little grow in Thailand. I have just germinated and planted the seeds into some real good soil. I'm just wondering do I put the pots in direct sunlight as it is currently 31 degrees here and I left the pots out for 15 mins in the direct sunlight and the soil was really warm. So I'm worried about damage to the plant.

So my question is. The seedlings are freshly planted. Is 31 degree direct sunlight okay for them or is it too hot ?

Temp is a little bit high but really depends on the strain.

Something to keep in mind, temperature is temperature if your growing outside. Direct sun or shade, it’s still the same temp in the air. Direct sun is great for the plant but caution with the roots. One consideration is putting something in front or around the pot to block the direct sun to the pot.

White light CFL. A couple inches away from your seedling until it establishes. Then once established well begin to introduce to sunlight. Begin slowly. Maybe an hour or so and each day increase how long you have it in the sun.

Slow and steady until it has fully transitioned.

That's my suggestion.

31 is high. 25.5 is what you really want for a new seedling

I’d say yeah potentially to hot , I use a t5 fluorescent for clones and seedlings ( super cheap and efficient to run ) - because as said above, they don’t require much light / or many lumens at that stage. Take extremely good care of your seedlings and clones and you are giving them the best chance possible in life Peace

Okay so after I let them slight shade with little bits of sunlight coming through the trees. Tonight I've brought them inside I don't have a light like yours but I do have an led t8 tube light so I've put them under that. Should I leave the light 24 hours .. sorry complete noob here

yeah I leave my clones and seedlings 24hr
I know some friends that do 18hr but I’ve seen quicker results with 24hr until I hit veg then I change to 18/6

When you put them outside again, you might want to put something on the soil surface, and especially around the pots. Some loose burlap bags around the pots, maybe some perlite or something like that on the soil. Should help keep the root temps down. Dark pots like those can heat up really quickly in the sun, cook your roots, especially with high air temps.

Yeah thanks good idea. That was my initial concern I touched the pots and they was scorching. I'm happy I moved them now but I hope that the 15 mins blast didn't kill them off. It is a Thai strain so I hope it will be resilient.

When I put them back I'll be sure to do what you said thanks man.

This is just a test run before I order some decent seeds. These seeds I have fell out of the block weed I buy from locals around here. Mostly all of them have not been mature enough but these ones seem real good with tiger stripes the lot. And out of the 7 I found on the block weed 4 of them have popped with another 1 more to pop tonight or tomorrow.

That being said I'm glad I'm trying out with these bag finds before I spend 30 to 40 dollars a seed and melt them in the sun. Thanks guys really appreciate this.

Btw Thailand is just about to relax a lot of laws re cannabis and medical cannabis production so if I can learn now maybe I'll be able to hit the ground running. I live on a rice paddy with Acer's and Acer's of land. Hopefully this will be the begging of something great.

Paint the outside of the pots white. It will help a ton.

Okay guys so after all day in sun/shaded sun and all night and all morning under the led we have 3 sprouting. The temp inside the house now is pushing 35 as we don't have aircon. So I've put a fan blowing over them.

I only planted one seed per pot but if you check the first picture it looks like two are sprouting out.. do I have twins haha. But seriously how is this possible is this normal ? The other pics are the two other that just popped through whilst I went to the shops.

I would keep those inside for a month under the light you mentioned in and earlier post. I had some seedings outside years ago and bugs ate them all gone. I just had little stems left over. Never did that again.

I'm going to do it in bits the afternoon sun is a lot cooler so I'll out them out after 3pm for a few hours sun and back in under the light when sun goes down

Twins happen fairly often, and can be more common with some strains. If they're not conjoined (siamese twins) you should gently separate them, move one to a new pot, if you have the space. Two plants in one pot isn't an ideal situation. They probably won't kill each other, but neither is likely to grow to it's full potential.

I got my gf to do it once, she had a lighter touch. Take a plug of soil around the seedling, pull it out and put it in a new pot, then fill the hole left over with some new soil. Easy.

Nope this is fresh soil and I only hand a handful of seeds that was potted and my gf was with me whilst we did it and we both for sure didn't put two in one . I will try to transplant it tomorrow let's see what happens.
