the MF scrog is under a 1000W HPS. I have a tent that has a 400W HPS and a 400W MH.whats up with those leaves on yestedays pics they looked pretty wilty???????
you have all this under1 1000 watt hps?
like i said... im looking into a 1000 watt digital ballast right now... THese are awesome results... I mean buds grow from the floor up... wtf... I want a 1000 watter!
If you remove 50% of those leaves, especially the knackered ones you will get a lot more yield.
Not being a git but i get fatter buds than that with a 400 watt hps using leaf removal on sativa spears.
You really don't need all those leaves all they do is block your light to your lower buds
Well i always remove them.thanks for the tip natmoon. from some of the threads on RIU, it seems this technique is in dispute, with the other side saying don't remove any healthy fan leaves. Last night I started removing all the yellowed leaves. that will definitely increase the light for the lower buds. With three weeks left flowering on my SCROG, do you think it is still worthwhile to trim the fan leaves?
I have a big yield or do you think that my pictures are lies to?Leaves dont block light they catch it. All of the books Ive rea say to never remove leaves unless they are dying. The bud doesnt metabolize food. This is the job of the big fan leaves. They buds are just the sexual organs. You wnt a big yeild, make that plant as healthy and strong as you can.
I have a big yield or do you think that my pictures are lies to?
And all of the books you may or may not have even read are merely speculation and someone else's opinion.
Those are 3 foot long solid colas from top to bottom grown under a 400 watt lamp, fuck fan leaves.
They store water and nutes for times of hardship there are no fucking times of fucking hardship in my fucking cupboard
Catch light my ass,use up root space, resources and block light from the buds.
Well i always remove them.
IMO they are not needed in a controlled environment where the plant is cared for.
We provide the care that the shade leaves would in the wild.
People think most of what i say is bullshit but all i ever see is people yielding 30 grams per plant and then saying that i am a liar.
Anyway IMO the reason that they only have a scraggly top of bud or skinny buds is that they don't remove the leaves.
Buds that are well lit are stronger and have more resin, hence they are heavier and denser.
Shade leaves are what they are called,i don't want or need my buds shaded and i provide plenty of nutes for the buds.
I hope that you and others will one day come to trust me
it never hurts to experiment, try it and lets see what happens, although ive read the best use of trimming the fan leaves is for the SOG method. Photosynthesis occurs in the leaves which produces ATP and NADPH, which is energy that all cells use. Leaves are also a storehouse for nutrients and stuff mannn so i duno.
Can't wait to see the harvest, this is a great motivational thread.
what I dont understand is why the BUDS (sexual organs) of a female plant need most light anyways, they arent the main factory of photosynthesis are they?
Exactly:"I wonder how the plant physiology works between vegging and flowering. I wonder if the fan leaves have a greater role during vegging and less so during flowering."Yeah... I know the logic... but it is hard to deny the results that natmoon has photographed. I wonder how the plant physiology works between vegging and flowering. I wonder if the fan leaves have a greater role during vegging and less so during flowering. I think natmoon is on to something in that the top buds are getting lots of light anyway so clearing away the fan leaves doesn't decrease their yield but it allows lower buds to catch more light from above.
Im gonna come live with you , you can be teacher and I'll be your apprentice, k? lolExactly:"I wonder how the plant physiology works between vegging and flowering. I wonder if the fan leaves have a greater role during vegging and less so during flowering."
I don't suggest to remove loads of leaf during veg,but i still remove some to expose new sites after ive fimmed my plants.
My pics speak for themselves really.
This can be done with any plant if you veg it for long enough and use fimming to make many tops, except that is certain plants that it is known do not respond well to topping or fimming.
Heres a blueberry that i crossed with my own mostly indica and as you can see it still works even with a mostly indica hybrid, blueberry is the bitch of all bitches to grow as well
