Yes, can't have your cake and eat it too. Good example is guys using light movers with crazy high gpw but way more fluff vs static sources.

I managed to square that circle some 30 years ago, by running a single HPS in a grow wing reflector under a circular light mover. I positioned the lamp only 8-10" above the canopy so plants got an intense dose of light, but since it moved it didn't stick around long enough to scorch them. The light mover did a full rotation about every 3 and a half minutes, so the plants would work on their photo chemistry and by the time they caught up, the light would be back.
It really kicked ass, especially for that long ago. No larf at all, great potency. I'd still be doing it if LED lights weren't as good as they are!

I agree, actually I think its important to sacrifice grams per watt for quality so I run only the dankest cuttings I can get rather than the big yielders and running organic soil rather than hyrdo. Ive never found a big yielder that had that super funk I love so much but Im always searching for it.
I definitely dont love larf, leafy sad buds but pretty easy to avoid by cleaning up the bottoms just before switching to 12/12 and during the first few weeks. That said, once buds get too big, quality seems to decreases as well. Luckily most cuttings I have come across that areultra dankness are sativa dom so you can get a dozen medium size colas with icy hard nuggets instead of one big fat cola. I did run a couple indica dom cuts recently and the biggest cola had the beginnings of bud rot in the center at 65 dsays, but I was not surprised because I let my humidity cycle between 60% to 80% during the humid season which is probably a bit too high.

I spoke to the engineer who started that company at a cannabis convention once. He just didn't seem to understand much about either the lights or the industry.
Those spinners ran so fast the lamps ran too cold, which right there ruined any performance improvement the rest of it might have gained. Everyone else in the same row of booths complained about the flickering giving them a raging headache. Finally, he used a slip ring to transfer power from the hub to the arms, which would never pass UL approval and therefore couldn't be used in a commercial facility.
Mine was carefully tuned for the size of the space and the mylar reflector material around the sides effectively reflected the light onto the canopy so that at no time were plants not in at least partial 'sun'. I used a swivel so I didn't have issues with twisting the cord. It was simple and highly effective.
Later, I built one with an air cooled hood and flexible exhaust ducting and while it managed heat well, it was nowhere near as effective as the open wing reflector was.
