I use this Miracle Grow Moisture Control and I added Sheep manure myself to it, 5:1 ratio.
I also was feeding using proper pH and for food, i used fox farm Grow Big and Big Bloom.
This particular plant has been like this since day one, very pale green and slow growth, but I noticed when i moved it to the smart pot yesterday it had grown up over night noticably. I am just trying to do different things now and watch results. least something works.

Ok. That gives me more context. Couple things.

- Miracle Grow is not the best base soil to use for cannabis. It has slow release fertilizers in it, which may not be available to the plant yet (not to mention too much heavy metals which is fine for ornamental flowers but you really dont want to smoke it.)

- I personally dont use compost like that until I transplant into flower. Shouldn't need it in veg.

- generally you want 1/3 of your mix to be perlite, pumice or something else to aid in soil drainage and give more oxygen to roots.

- you are feeding bloom nutes during veg stage. You dont start using that until you flip them into flower.

Not sure exactly what it is, but basically you are lacking some of the nutrients they need for early veg.

@ilovereggae wow... Good info man thank you. I should grab other soil then next season
I also didn't know that Grow big is for bloom, it says for vegetation on their site.
I think I will go grab some other type of fertilizer then.
Thanks for the great to tips man.

Of those two ready mixes, which one is best for my girls?
Garden Soil
-Black loam and compost
-Multipurpose blend of rich black loam and compost

Organic Mix
-Used by local certified organic growers
-Peat moss, manure, black peat loam, mushroom compost
-No sand or fillers
-Great for vegetable gardens, revitalizing old beds
-No bagged amendments necessary other than bone meal

Thank you

The grow big should be fine for veg. The big bloom is what I was referring to. Just save that for when they start flowering.

Of the 2 of those, the organic mix sounds like what you would want. Hard to know exactly without seeing all their ingredients. Is that just what you see locally? Its probably good. See if they have soil test results available we can check out.

A pretty reliable base soil that a lot of us use is Fox Farm Ocean Forest. Its available at a lot of garden supplies and nurseries and most hydro shops. Im making a switch to my own soil mix but up to now Im still using the FoxFarm alone in veg, and then a 3 way mix with that, compost, and perlite for flowering. I need to top dress and also use Recharge 1x a week until week 6, but thats about the simplest fool proof suggestion I can make.

Also I should mention that the 1/3 compost in my mix is 1/2 EWC and 1/2 Malibu Bus compost.

:eyesmoke:Manifold Gang forever. Here's one of my current babies. She's ready for her 2nd surgery. Couple weeks, I'll up-pot her, bury her a little deeper, and have 4 arms to tie down.

Looking a a little unruly. But you can rest assured, they can handle being stripped down to two tiny growth tips. The important part is the leaves attached to what YOU want to grow. Not the people in your comments...

to be honest it feels like you jumped into it and regret it. I promise.. you won't regret it when you're curing horse cock nugs with zero flarf in 12 weeks..

Edit: If you look close, you can see I waited long enough that it was worth saving that first top. I also waited long enough that it was worth saving the 2nd set, making 3 clones from each manifold. Will likely stop saving them now lmfaooo

@ilovereggae Wow.. This is so good.. pretty advanced quality data in there man...I just jumped the gun and bought vigoro the yellow bag . Is that alright?
No clue to be honest Ive never used it. For thr most part general purpose garden soils from Home Depot are not the best option. They will work, but buying something proven to work good for cannabis will save you headaches from having to ammend or adjust nutes to make it work.

I really suggest you invest the time and read
https://growweedeasy.com end to end. None of the things I mentioned are advanced techniques. Really basic stuff that once you dig into will all click. That way you can plan ahead instead of being reactionary with all of your decisions.

He is still trying to figure out what soil to use. Manifolds and topping are advanced techniques that are going to make his first grow more complicated. To each their own. Glad that works for you. But personally I think there is value in keeping it as simple as possible and getting him to harvest his first nugs regardless of how larfy they are.

@ilovereggae thank you very much for the site and all the info again :)
Yesir, you actually make a lot of sense but i guess since this is my first grow, being a rookie entails doing a lot erratic unplanned decisions which i am happy of coz it teaches me alot. so next year, definitely i will be a wiser man. thanks to people like you and this forum :)
I have just transplanted them again to this vigoro soil which is (mushroom compost+black soild+bit of manure). This is the second transplant in 48 hours and i know it is very stupid to do this, but just wanted to get them rest in a better soil once and for all. Let's see what happens to them tomorrow :)
have a good evening bro

Trust me, i have been there and you are right its all a learning experience. I have a buddy who is a master grower who has been at it for 30+ years who is my main grow mentor. I am a stubborn donkey sometimes and will do stuff against his judgement bc I think I have some amazing new idea. In most cases I learn my lesson and wind up doing what he told me anyway. In others I prove him wrong, bc he is old and set in his ways too. Im sure you will figure it out and grow some awesome buds!

Definitely looking a bit better! The one on the left still looks a little lighter color but that's how it goes sometimes. They are probably just finding their roots and getting some good growth on them. Not sure if its the Cal Mag or not. I would probably hold off on any more of that for now until they show signs of deficiency. If anything you could try some foliar with some kelp in it. I use this stuff from Roots Organics, it usually does the trick on clones that got a little yellowed, and I don't think its possible to burn your plants or overuse it like how too much Cal Mag could do.

@ilovereggae yes..was reading about this today.. I will grab some tomorrow and use this instead coz when i was transplanting it, i found it to be (out of all the rest) having the smallest root mass...i think you are absolutely right again....kelp it is then.

@ilovereggae i couldn't find roots organics kelp in Canada, this is what i could find:
https://marphyl.com/product/soil-enhancer/
and this: https://www.amazon.ca/Organic-Kelp-Meal-600g-1-0-3/dp/B07PBMFYCG/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=kelp+for+cannabis+plant&qid=1590024965&sr=8-2
I ordered the first one as it has very high reviews.
you think it is good?
Haven't heard of that first one but looks pretty good as a soil conditioner. But doesn't look like there is any recommendation for foliar usage. It might work but I usually go for stuff that has been tested by someone else or is recommended for a specific use.

The second one is something you amend your soil with, or top dress. You might actually be able to use that one to mix up and spray on foliar, I have never done that myself though. I have been using the Roots Organics products for a long time, and just started learning to make my own soil and stuff so I will be honest that I am not the best person to give you the answer on this. I have a buddy in Jamaica tho that harvests his own seaweed, adds to his compost pile, and also makes foliar spray with it, so I don't see why it wouldn't work. Maybe just read up a bunch on kelp and how to best use it before you apply. Maybe top dressing would be better for now anyway.

@Vdxiii i'ld check the ph on the Blue Dream. And also the nutrient content that your soil had, and everything you eventually have put in.
Iron becomes unavailable above 6.5 Ph in soil. Calcium becomes unavailable below 6.5, so is super important to fluctuate the Ph between 6.4 and 6.8 in different days but +- 0.2 difference won't cause no harm. ideal is around 6.5 Ph.

It really looks like a big iron deficiency, and even calcium and nitrogen. I've seen a couple Blue Dreams with the same identical look and problem in the same reservoir with other healty plants.
Too much Phosphorus in the soil can cause the calcium and the iron to become unavailable to uptake (because they react together to form new molecules, basically the salt buildup).

If you think the issue is Ph (i'll suggest to monitor it anyways with some kind of meter that you stick in the substrate, as well as measuring and adjusting the ph of the solution when you water or fertigate) just try to get it within the right zone..

If you think the soil already has a lot of nutrients in it, maybe in unbalanced NPK ratios, go for a flush maybe combined with foliar feed).
If you simply never fed her the amount of goodness she needed, you should feed her the proper amount of iron, calcium, nitrogen, and balance the levels with K and Mg as well as keeping the phosphorus low possibly, and super important balance the PH.
Can you tell me the brand and the name of the soil, and of the nutrient you are using? i'll try to find the composition of those and figure out if things are right with all the nutrients listed above and if the ratio is right.
How often do you water them, how ofter do you feed them, and how do you figure out how much nutrient to use?
Foliar feeding can surely work in every case i think
