A Minnesota doctor had the same idea March 15.

"the rapidly growing team is already nearing completion of their fourth prototype, has run successful tests on pigs and has manufacturing partners from around the country coming online. "

Could be that I'm wrong. I simply don't believe that sort of thing can be available in a few weeks when its really needed. After that, if I were making the decisions, I'd want the equipment we are used to operating rather than something that is unfamiliar for the hundreds of thousands that will be processed through ICUs over the next 6 months or so. Considering what's at risk, and the fact that nothing needs to be invented, I'd choose to deal with the problem of scaling up manufacturing and provide ICUs with equipment they know and trust. So, I'd throw money at this problem and maybe carve a billion or so out of the aid package from something less urgent to pay for it.

How about we revisit this in a year and see what actually happened?

Wish I would have copyrighted the word ‘unprecedented’ three years ago when I told the wife we would be hearing a lot of it. I would change the spelling to ‘unpresidented’ and I Hope when he is, and refuses to accept it he is escorted to the gate as any disgruntled, unstable moron, former employee would be.
Speaking of wishes, I'd appreciate if your wish would please have me in unsupervised charge of his IV during his stay in the hospital?

thankyouverymuch

I'll take the simple ventilator, you can wait for Trump to throw a billion dollars at the problem.

Americans are giving give high marks to state and local governments for their handling of the fast-moving coronavirus pandemic that has swiftly remade everyday life around the World, but less than half approve of the job done thus far by President Donald Trump and the federal government, according to a new survey from the Associated Press.
The poll does find Trump’s approval ratings are among the highest of his presidency.
Forty-four percent of Americans support Trump’s oversight of the pandemic, in line with his overall 43% approval rating.
That’s the highest rating during his more than three years in office.
Figure that the fuck out, because I can't
Trump’s approval ratings are propped up by strong support from Republicans: 82% back his handling of the pandemic. Democrats remain overwhelmingly opposed to the president, with just 14% of Democrats supportive of his actions in recent weeks.
His ratings are the highest of his Presidency, like right now in the midst of this shitstorm he personally helped to create?
And 82% of the Pukes think he's doing a good job?
When we run out of body bags & urns for the Dead, then we'll see what his approval ratings are (probably the same because the average American is really not noted for they're mental acumen, seemingly they don't mind getting fucked over, just wave a fucking flag & they'll follow you anywhere)
Oh, buy your Urn now on Amazon, apparently those are selling out also.
This is a nice one & it comes with a lifetime guarantee :)

It's official: Donald Trump is broke. The Trump organization can't pay its bills after just two weeks of having some properties shut down due to coronavirus.

Trump is now asking Deutsche Bank to postpone payments. He's also asking Palm Beach County and others for the same.

Trump, the man who said he doesn't need money, that said he has billions, is now so broke he can't pay his bills.

No wonder he was crying about oversight and investigations in yesterdays press conference. He must have been upset that he couldn't secretly funnel a lot more tax payer money through his properties.

The only thing he is good at is Bankrupting company’s and opening new ones to shift his and Jared’s wealth. I’d like to know how much the trump ‘family and friends’ dumped when they received the classified briefing of congress?
And what stocks or companies they purchased. Jared has links to med testing company ( shifted it mostly to his brother and through a chain of corps and LLC
ohhh did I mention screwing countless contractors out of payment and puttingTHEM out of business at the same time as they dissolve company’s and write millions off in losses. I mean come on, who can’t make money with a casino.

Does anyone know what happened to the MORAL MAJORITY? TEA PARTY? Fiscal responsibility? 10-12 Trillion in the red if we are lucky after this. Instead of gutting our regulations and national preparedness system to pay for tax breaks, imaginary walls and stock buybacks.
He is so good for our military he got them the biggest most wonderific, budget ever, then skimmed 15 billion off the top to pay for the wall’Who was supposed to pay for’?........MEXICO!!!

and all you guys bitchin cause of the cost of shipping Chinese LEDs and such just remember, China is paying for ALL your tarrifs so it’s all good!

Stock answer : “it may work, it may not, personally i think it will’ but there’s a lot of people saying it won’t , so maybe it won’t, guess we’ll have to wait and see.”?!:;]}% ....sorry don’t know how to punctuate Stable Genius speak.

Well, he is "the king of debt" and nobody knows debt better than him. He hasn't heard anything about a shortage of tests in weeks, though, as he sucks air through his nostrils and teeth. God bless the yoonited shatesh.

I do hope they go through regulatory requirements before going to patients with them. This is one area where no heroics, development or invention is needed (sorry @DIY-HP-LED , but a person in an induced coma whose breathing and life depend on a ventilator 24/7 isn't the one to be experimenting with). If it were me, I'd throw money at this problem. But I'd inspect the shit out of the whole thing while writing those checks.
If there's ever been a time to say fuck the rules & regulations in dealing with putting ventilators on the streets now is the time.
I understand the bureaucracy that will be involved in order to complete the demand for the needed equipment, and that in itself is going to cost lives.
Produce as many emergency ventilators as possible now, fuck FDA guidelines, and worry about it later.
I live in a town where there are over 100 confirmed cases as of today, and the largest hospital in my area, Danbury Hospital, has taken over the Ives Center for the Arts structure & placed 3600 beds in it. This is in Fairfield County, CT, one the wealthiest areas in the country with a supposedly topnotch medical system.
So, yea, I'll buy a ventilator from anyone now, it's all a crap shoot anyways, right?

He tried to dump this mess off on th. VP so he could take the heat. Then he saw the ratings and saw he could have the highest rated show on TV. (Pause for victory lap) Well of course 12 million people are watching for direction and leadership. Too bad that 12,000 of them may pass away... “guess we will have to wait and see, but I think we get an A+”

ever wonder why Mr. Stable Genius has went to court to seal all his school records? Maybe he got a participation certificate.

Canada is the best comparison Americans can make to determine the impact of trump on infection and death rates. As you can see the death rate and testing ratios do not line up, Canada has a pop of 38m /USA pop 320m

per million
Total cases usa = 651 (major testing issues)
Total cases Can. = 258
2.5 x the Canadian rate

per million
Total deaths usa =15
Total deaths Can.= 3

5 x the Canadian rate

Donald was an expensive luxury for some racist assholes, they aren't even decent enough to admit that they were wrong and apologise for their stupidity. They will still vote for the guy who killed their mothers and grandmothers, daddys and grand daddy's too, some will even vote for the fellow who will kill them, that's what hate and fear can do for you and your country. MAGA, if your older you probably won't be, are ya tired of winning yet old feller? Hard to talk with a tube shoved down yer throat while hooked up to a ventilator, provided you're lucky enough to get one
Canada is a whole different ball game. Canada doesnt have a New York. New York accounts for almost half of the the cases in the US and i mean look at the fucking place its no surprise.

People are going to die on those cobbled together works of garage art due to equipment failure IMO. Also the chaos they cause in ICU will affect many more people's outcomes. It's not as if Trump cares though. Agree that Republicans will never prioritize working people's lives for their tax cuts. That's just where we are. If I were running an ICU, I'd be working at saving as many lives as possible. I simply don't believe the story about cheap ass ventilators being the solution. Could be that Trump won by getting you and others to lower what to expect from him.
