Once they sprout they grow VERY rapidly, and then you just have too worry about the drying.
What are you growing them in?
I built a cabinet, 24x24x36", and secured a small heater in there. I attached a 120v relay to an Arduino Pro Mini, and wrote some software to keep the temperature at 25C. Once incubation is done and growing starts, I'll hang a 23W CFL from the top of the cabinet, while maintaining the same temperature.

I draped a heavy wool blanket over the cabinet to keep the heat in.

For the actual grow, I'm using the PF Tek method for my first try. Vermiculite and brown rice flour, with distilled water. I followed the method pretty well exactly.

I make my own grow controllers so I can monitor things, specifically to dial them in after initial setup:

gotcha. for some reason, i thought it was only 2 weeks or so.
Nope, depending on your style of grow, be it jar or bulk, it will take @ least 2-3 weeks for the fruit to form (depending on the spore) then a week or so for development & then a couple of weeks to dry properly.
Yea, now that I really think about it, it's not really as long as a grow, just a couple of months.
It's a pain in the ass I found, especially to find good spores.
Go check out Midwest Grow, they have all the gear needed if your into it.

Yeah, it'll be about two months. Approximately five weeks for incubation for the mycelium to grow (I'm incubating using the 250mL jar method), then about three weeks or so after switching to the actual grow stage (just dumping the substrate on a piece of tinfoil, then placing all of the "pucks" on their tinfoil, onto a 1" layer of wet perlite in a clear Rubbermaid container. That container will go back into my grow cab, but with a light, so the shrooms know they should start pinning and growing).

I cannot believe how many people think that the store shelves will just magically re-stock themselves for the foreseeable future. Today's food supply chain is "Just-in time" and there are no longer large whse to pull from. 3-5 days at best. And the demand is everywhere. Food supplies will soon look like WWII with regular shortages and rationing. You better start thinking about growing your own food, this is gonna last a while....as you were

I do miss the simple old microdot days.
Holy fuck!!!
I haven't thought about the dot in decades.
1st time I saw it, I said what the fuck is this?
Then the answer was it's a new type of acid (it was purple)
Little teeny tiny dots that looked like nothing.
Ok, I'll give a go I say's too myself :)
Ate 4 of those fuckers & wandered the Galaxy for 12 hours.
Great shit :)
Thanks for the memories @TacoMac :)

Logistics 101: never stock more than you can sell on a regular basis.

That's why shelves are empty. The manager at my Publix store explained it. Right now, they're selling at 350% of capacity because people are hording. That's already starting to taper off. They're not going to change their entire logistics system for an event that's only going to last a few weeks.

Within another two weeks as all the hordes run out of money things will gradually return to normal.

The same exact thing happens when a major snow storm is forecast. It's nothing new.

I'm an Acid man myself.
Buttons & schrooms always tasted like shit & you could never count on the potency.
But good LSD was foolproof, no nausea or hangovers.
Just hold the fuck on and away you went :)

Yeah, shrooms don't take me deep enough. I have a bad repulsive reaction to strong foods, and the battle of trying to get dry shrooms down was always like the low point of the trip.

'73, Hawaii, camping, made friends, they came back with mushrooms, mixed with Campbell's mushroom soup, full moon, sand crabs popping up, I never laughed so much, a fucking great experience. Used LSD and it was great, just a little short of mushrooms, plus you couldn't rely on the seller, there were a lot of fakes. My rule was to set aside 12 hrs.
Hell, being retired, I have a lot of time on my hands to do it again. Memories are tempting me.

I might do a mushroom grow this summer. Mushrooms are the only drug I can do without risking my career.

It's been awhile since I've had a good trip, maybe 6-7 years ago. Last time I tripped on mushrooms I went to the drag races in late summer. Pretty wild wandering around in the pits, getting a close look at the cars and meeting some of the drivers. I also seen a jet car there run the 1/4 mile and that was kick ass. I remember sitting in the stands and feeling the heat from the jet engine and the smell of the burning jet fuel.

I had a good time the other night, just sat around listening to sad tunes while I was peaking, hoping I could have a good cry. I didn't manage but I still feel better. Had a facetime with my mom when it was morning in her timezone. I'll probably be kind of a decent person for a little while.

Interestingly enough, I'm into the third week of my very first attempt at growing shrooms :)
Nice man. I'm on my 8th year. It never gets old. You can almost sit and watch them grow. What tek did you run with?

This time I went with popcorn. Popcorn always looks cool colonizing. Goes from popcorn to coco verm tubs
