What are YOU hoarding for Corona Virus?

This whole issue is being blown out of proportion by the lame-stream media like usual. Remember the bird flu that was going to lay waste to the human race? Or swine flu. What a f'n joke.
Looks like ignorance is spreading faster than Covid 19....did you see what Italy had to do yesterday? Not a joke or fake news.
Now a CPAC Covid 19 denier has come down with it, and its spreading in DC.
Keep your head in the sand and your ass in the air, dude...just how Trump likes his voters

That's what happened to the GOP senate, they stuck their heads in the sand over impeachment and left their old asses up in the air to get fucked by the epidemic. Look at the average age of the republican senators and calculate the odds for such elderly people who have massive public contact. I'm sure that they and their staffers are thinking about this shit right now, their own asses are on the line too. Think they will let Donald withhold witnesses and documents from the congressional oversight hearings on this? He will because he has a lot of fuck ups to hide, but everybody in America is gonna want to know about this, this isn't some Ukraine scandal that nobody gives a fuck about.

My exact thought, the Italian legislature just got its first cases, which prompted the lockdown till April 2.

I see from some of the posts that the trumpers are recommending going on a cruise, cause there are such great deals right now! I'll bet a lot of em are snapping up those deals as we speak. The Trump rallies will be full to bursting too.

Just think of all the great deals they'll get at all those estate auctions...
My daughter's boyfriend and his parents are leaving for a 2 week cruise next week. It was too hard not to make fun of the brilliant decision.

Global warming will bring on some real pandemics real soon and it's about time. All our environmental problems are brought about by one fact. Too many f'n people and a good cleansing is needed to get us down to a sustainable population so the planet can re-balance. I'll take my chances if one comes along and if I get a shitty deal will take it like a man.
I'm still aghast at this statement, wishing billions dead. This is straight up Goebbels talk, and getting worse.
Good ol' Nazi eugenics where the strong survive, the weak are put to death ,after rounding up FakeNews and the Puppetmasters of course.

How about education, sanitation, and birth control instead of billions dead. Maybe think like a woman instead taking it in the ass every day like a man...

So we were looking for hand sanitizer. We've always used it. (Well, my wife and daughter do, me not so much.)

Everybody was sold out. Target, Walmart, Costco, everybody. You look online people are selling the crap for 50 dollars a bottle. So my wife goes the other way and starts looking where you'd least suspect to find hand sanitizer.

She found some. On sale for 50% off. $1.50 a bottle. She ordered a case.

There are also DIY solutions you can make from common ingredients, see the internet for instruction and info. They should be able to ramp up production and distribution of this stuff in a hurry though.

Actually, there is a glut of alcohol production because Trump issued waivers to refiners, don't have blend it into gasoline anymore.
He fucked his farm voters in the ass on corn after killing their soybean sales to China... what a guy!

I'm going to post up a thread where I'm making THC/CBD infused isopropyl hand sanitizer.

Basic ingredients will be 2/3+ 91% iso, 1/3- aloe vera gel, a shot of glycerin, a few drops of peppermint oil, and some number of grams of decarbed cannabis with a higher cbd ratio.

I'm going to start with something like 6-8 oz of iso, add about 10-12 grams of flower, let it extract, then strain it out. I'll use this tincture as the base of the hand sanitizer.

I'm going to shoot for a 65%-70% alcohol solution; the CDC recommends 60% as a minimum.

The aloe is there to keep your hands from drying the f out. The glycerin stabilizes the blend so it doesn't separate. The peppermint oil is to make it smell nice.

I've got 20 x 2 oz squeeze bottles I got off amazon. I'm going to fill them and give them out to friends and family.

All in, it will probably cost me about a $1.50 a bottle, and the most expensive part is the $1 bottle.

Hell, if you have sore joints in your hands it's a 2fer. ;)

Really doubt we would lock down cities like China. The real problem is if things get squirrely people will buy up shit and you will have a hard time finding what you need. I am just coming off a lousy cold. Eat healthy? Heck just manage to eat. Found my munchies did not go too far. Stocked up on essentials. Have cans of coffee, buy them on sale. But needed coffee whitener, bought an extra one. Bread in the fridge, one loaf in the freezer. Another might be a good idea. Toilet paper, even bought a big bag without it being on sale.

My guess is we will just have to self isolate when we get the virus, so minimum get through two weeks. No hand sanitizer, I don't like the stuff but I can see people using it, especially with kids, I live alone. I prefer soap and water. Worked in a hospital and part of what I did was maintain isolation rooms, stuff you need to protect yourself from or protect the patient from bringing in bugs. A little concerned with people buying up the masks. The normal surgical masks will do nothing to help you but if you have something they will catch droplets. That is its job, protecting others.

The ones to protect yourself, N95 masks, use them if you do not have the bug but you are caring for someone who has it. They are talking a shortage of these. The people who need them are hospital staff, people in close contact with infectious people. You will run out of healthy people to care for the sick if the staff do not have their protective equipment. One thing I learned to do while working in the hospital, don't touch my nose or eyes unless my hands were washed. People are used to touching their face, got an itch, whatever. Rather than use my hand I would use my shoulder, don't sneeze on your hands but rather into your sleeve (to protect others). Basically being retrained to have habits that limit the spread of diseases.

Not really hording related but these are things that will help people avoid getting the virus. And if you get it you need to get through two weeks without the outside world if you do not want to help spread it. I think I can manage two weeks no problem. I really would like a bag of chips by now though.

Repost this or something like it on my new public health thread, your experience might be useful to others here. Just helpful info and experiences in the hospital, politics free, but it's gonna be hard!
