How To Tell If You Are A Hoarder

Hoarding is an anxiety disorder in which an individual fails to throw away a large number of possessions with no value. Hoarding is believed to be a form of obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD). Approximately two to five percent of the United States population is thought to have a full-blown hoarding disorder. Hoarders usually retain plenty of possessions in their homes and cars and may claim that they have a personal attachment to each item that prevents them from parting with it.

COVID-19: What You Might Need If You're Quarantined at Home
Despite what you might see others doing, there's no need to hoard supplies for an extended stay at home

COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus that first emerged in China, is now spreading in certain communities in the U.S.

Some people are trying to limit their contact with crowds by spending more time at home. And as public health officials scramble to limit the spread of the virus, many Americans who have been exposed to COVID-19 have been asked to quarantine themselves at home for 14 days. Eventually, whole communities may be under similar restrictions, which is what happened in parts of Italy and China.

“We ask for people’s patience and understanding, and most importantly their cooperation,” Nancy Messonnier, M.D., director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), said in a recent press briefing. “Right now, individual actions can have an important impact on how this situation plays out. You may need to take a break from your normal daily routine.”

That sort of break isn't all bad, says Emily He, a writer who lives in Cambridge, Mass., but was in China visiting family for Chinese New Year and has been unable to travel far from her mother’s apartment since Jan. 25. “Think about things you've been meaning to catch up on, and make a list,” He suggests.

Before I was evacuated and had to relocate due to forest fire last year, we lived a self-sustainable life in the very far north. We were over an hour from the closest store or town. We got used to stocking provisions. We have a solar setup. We have a 10kW generator. I can even run my full indoor grow off-grid. We were at the point where we'd only go to town about once per month.

We then and again now live on a lake that we draw our water from. We eat a lot of fish. We have gardens for food.

I could very easily with no trouble at all hunker down and not leave the house for at least three months if I had to.

No ridiculous panic buying. We stocked up over time, and every single thing we buy has a purpose.
I bought toilet paper because assholes here are buying it all lol. I’m pretty much set to last a month or two as well. Might be a deer killed out of season if shit hits the fan but I really do like venison tenderloin lol. Bought two more hens yesterday so lots of eggs, should be good here. And I’ve got about 1000 rounds of different bullets and shells as well. Need to pick up a pound of weed next week as well, starting to get low :(

all the weed I can store that's all I need no food nothing just pure thc
I have enough cannabis bud cured, vacuum sealed and stored to last us a very long time. Add to that all of the cannabis edibles we've made and frozen.

It just keeps piling up. I can't bring myself to stop growing :)

My justification for continuously adding to the stash pile is in the event the banking system crashes someday, I'll have something to barter.

They don't use many humans and those they use they abuse, but supply chain issues might be a problem and the folks at headquarters could be struck down.
Then they will just get more humans to fill those roles, or more automation. Home delivery is here to stay I'm betting. Shit they are even working on drone deliveries.

Humanity will soon have to start figuring out how to live and enjoy life without spending the majority of time away form home. That is how we will really cut down on fossil fuel consumption.

This whole issue is being blown out of proportion by the lame-stream media like usual. Remember the bird flu that was going to lay waste to the human race? Or swine flu. What a f'n joke.

I'm so sick of hearing about this shitty little bug I barely watch the news any more. If you're watching the usual outlets I can see why you're preparing for the zombie apocalypse but it's hyped to hell and nothing to worry about.

I'm one of the old farts who has a better chance of dying from something like this but I'm not worried. I've never had a flu shot in my life and don't recall having the flu in the last 50 years or so. I survived measles, mumps, chicken pox and even got by without a polio vaccine until I was 10. Never wore a seatbelt until I was 30 and survived that too.

Global warming will bring on some real pandemics real soon and it's about time. All our environmental problems are brought about by one fact. Too many f'n people and a good cleansing is needed to get us down to a sustainable population so the planet can re-balance. I'll take my chances if one comes along and if I get a shitty deal will take it like a man.

Go stock up on whatever. At least you'll have lots left over once the sheeple calm down. lol
