Looks awesome twalte!
And fingers crossed for the seeds. I hear you about how frustrating it can be sprouting. That and cloning are the two parts of growing that have given me the most anxiety historically.
Honestly, that’s why I chose to adopt a KISS mindset with both practices.
Clones I just use scissors (don’t even bother cleaning them unless maybe they are caked in keif from trimming and won’t function properly) to cut off the lower leaves, usually (but not always) cut off the tips of the leaves one node down, cut the bottom stem at a 45 degree angle, dip into rooting gel (or use aloe if I’m out) and put into a roofer plug (or occasionally straight into soil if I’m out of plugs). Have had nearly 100% success with this method.
So now cloning rarely worries me. Even the times I have taken clones the day I harvest the plant I’m confident they will root, and they almost all do.
Likewise, as you can see in my journal, I experimented with a couple methods of seed germination this time around and found that putting the seeds straight into moist medium (used rapid rooter plugs, but have planted straight into soil in the past too), no soaking, and putting the seeds/plugs directly under lights (so really no concern for darkness) I still got 5 out of 5 seeds to pop (in fact of the 11 I planted the only one that didn’t pop had been soaked for 24 hours before being planted so was likely just a dud).
I’m convinced that seeds only truly require moisture and warmth/correct temperature to grow. Everything else is expendable/preference.
So no more overthinking and over complicating seed sprouting for me. Just straight to moist soil or into root plugs, under a humidity dome, onto a heat mat and a grow light. Any viable seed should sprout just fine.
Hope this helps bring your mind some ease. And check my account of my seed sprouting experiment for evidence of you need help convincing yourself further.
Happy growing.
p.s. Badass that you got one of the UV lights back into the tent! Definitely still looking forward to hear your thoughts on whether you feel it made any positive difference.
