First time grower

I am growing two plants, one is pineapple chunk and the other is 24k gold. I have a 1000w led light (yes sorta overkill I know) and I’m growing in hydroponics using the fox farm feeding schedule. Both of my plants are in the third week of veg and the pineapple chunk is showing signs of discoloration on the fan leaves. This is my first real grow and I’m not experienced to know what is going on. Any help on this topic or advice on anything else is greatly appreciated. “Attached feeding schedule below”

Really? Many manufacturers say 1000w and it only draws 300 watts. What light do you have?

Your plant shows some signs of what could be a potassium deficiency. Is it only happening on the lower leaves?

May I ask what your pH is running? PPM? Do you use RO water? If not whats the PPM of your tap h2o?

May we see a picture of your roots? (if possible with your setup)

Also, some tip burn from too strong of nutes. Probably from following the feed chart which is almost always too aggressive.

Well that tip burn could be a potassium deficiency. I am interested in knowing the actual PPM he is running. The fade near the end doesn't seem like nute burn.

Well I guess I could say my manufacturer says 1000 watts too. I’m not really sure to know what it draws but I will put link at bottom. But yes it is only on the bottom fam leaves. I noticed it 3 days ago and it’s gradually getting worse. Im not really sure the exact ph. I use the scale where you put 3 drops in a tube and judge it based off of color. I try to keep it around 6.5. I use disani water (supposedly it’s RO water) and I have never checked the ppm due to not having a gauge. I will definitely get one tomorrow if necessary!!!

TBH that light is garbage. If you want a really good LED look at HLG, Timber for example. They will not be cheap. You get what you pay for.

With quality LED you will not only get much better results but you can cover the same area a 1000 watt HPS covers (16 sqft) using about 650 watts.

Many fish PPM meters use a different conversion rate from EC like 0.64 or 0.7 instead of 0.5. Just have to know what your dealing with.

I don't like combo pens.

Blue Lab makes a very good pH meter, Apera makes a good pH meter too, Hanna makes ok ones. Cheapo ones can be very unreliable and may need calibration every use.

You can go cheaper on a PPM pen if you wanna save money. I have some cheapos that work just as good as my pricey one.

Well he was trying to run his pH at 6.5 so lets see what happens when he switches to 5.8. I agree that most nutrient labels recommend a high feed PPM but many of his leaves look fine. Look at his 5th pic. The older growth seems most effected. I am saying the high pH was locking out some stuff, including potassium.

A proper ph and ec (ppm) meter will really serve you well. Without those you’ll be better off in soil

Alright I went ahead and spent the money to get a decent ppm meter. It is at 1840. Is this bad and if so I would you advice fixing this?

whoa!!! i believe you should give a flush with plain water for 24 hrs. then start back with MUCH lighter nutes. try maybe 500 ppms to start. then work up slowly if they can handle it. i think that ppm caused a nute lockout which is causing the K deficiency that @Renfro mentioned.
and learn how to use your ppm meter to tell if the ppm is too high, too low or just right.
