Seems out o my price range for now. Been incorporating “topsoil” which is mostly composted bark and bark fines into mix. This is from Sims Bark Company.

Bark hu? I he
ard bark is a low quality filler?
Prob gonna try Ebb&Flo. After discussing with OHD & liking how they grow in the cloner, along with reducing my led issues & freeing up time for life by being fully automated.
Anyone see any reasons why not to? What are the Pros & Cons if anyone here has experience with Ebb n Flo? Thanks!

It aids drainage and is used in many nursery mixes. I bought the last of a retiring nursery's Fafard 3B which has composted pine bark init and was as good of a commercial base as I have had.
Composted pine bark is much much different than pine shavings or sawdust or pine needles. Must be composted though. Using at 10% in present mix with excellent results. Playing with this stuff as I stumbled on it at local Walmart a while back. Good so far.

Only ran it for about 18 months, but I loved ebb & flow. Excellent growth rates, all the flexibility and responsiveness you'd expect from hydroponics... as long as you keep your res temps, EC, and pH in order it's pretty much autmatic win. Would still be running it if I hadn't decided to move away from hydro altogether.

I've been running Ebb and flow for 10 years. I have always really liked it. I never tried to grow big ass plants like you normally do, but small to medium-sized plants are awesome.

Peat is formed by decomposition and accumulation process of plant materials that grow on the land which is influenced by dry and wet season period. Peat formation occurs in a long period with the formation rate of about 1 mm per year (Charman, 2002), which means 1 m deep peat needs 1000 years to form. Not to mention the natural pH of peat is around 4.9 pH.

I really don't care what preference you have for your grow medium, there's advantages and drawback to all of them.
coco and perlite better deal to me. more aeration !

Just how much light fills the room with tent open when using Quantum Boards. Seriously, as I don't need to have the window blind turned into a projector screen. Is the effect similar to bare COBs in that way?

That is a concern as my tents are open for some part of the day and from November thru March my window is visible from very light traffic road.

Curtains aren't an option?
Curtains would work as do blinds except for the occasional stoner error . Not even mentioning lost and scattered lumens. Happy with COBs which I run with lenses or without and one with reflector which works. Older lenses discreet diodes also were very directional.

Also, I just don’t like extremely bright light bouncing around and that extra bedroom is also where I do artwork, a studio.
