Renewable Energy + Battery Storage = Fossil Fuels Obsolete, Even Natural Gas

I'm heading out to mow around 7 acres of yard. I'll jump on the Kubota. I can't imagine the size of my Kubota if battery fueled. And the weight. 1 gal of diesel to mow 7 acres... Hydrogen would be a bit less efficient. But my tractor only weighs ~2800 lbs. Batteries suck.

Well, there are lead acid batteries in cars now as well as seals plus hundreds of moving engine parts. Electrics will dominate shortly and will be much simpler to maintain. Been running trolling motors fo4 50 years and never had one motor issue. Got a 40 volt trimmer that has been doing a great job under pretty tough conditions for 3 years.

I also vaporize my herb and most use Lithium ion batteries as well as iPads and laptop @nd phones. But the vaporizers make and maintain temps around 400f and none of those batteries suck.

Battery technology is expanding rapidly and will continue to as demand increases as electrics and hybrids continue to gobble market share. Big makers are spending billions on electric tech. China is looking that way and they will be the biggest potential market for the foreseeable future.

Indy Cars will flash by with a hum!

Wouldn't be that much heavier, in part because electric motors weigh a lot less than diesel engines. And it would be cheaper, especially when it comes to maintenance; electric motors don't need oil changes, filters, glow plugs, replacement injectors, fuel pumps, etc etc etc

Fuck I have to buy a new minkota every two years on my hunting boat. In its defence I drive it like I stole it lol. The biggest deal breaker at the moment IMO is the cheap availability of subsidized nat gas and oil :(. If we paid what the real cost of the environmental remediation, etc. was worth we would all be driving long range electric by now :(

It is.

It's primarily lithium, lead, magnesium and labor.

It does not involve the burning of fossil fuels. Hydrogen creation does.

It really is just that simple.
How about electric generation for battery manufacturing? Manufacturing machines needed. More energy. It's complicated.

How many fanuc pwm motors have you lifted? A 50kw electric motor is much heavier than my 28 hp Kubota deisel. Sorry
Lots of information on this thread. Some good some bad.

Again, with salt reactors as part of the package, it's zero emissions, zero fossil fuels forever.

But do keep on clinging to your failed argument that using fossil fuels is still the best way forward.

Obviously so much knowledge here I'm not much help. Remember, 10 kinds of people in the world. Those that know binary and those that don't.

I've found after 74 years on this Earth and over 45 years working in the electronics field some people truly want good information. Others just want to talk and sling crap. I've always had more success hanging with doers. The crap slingers bring you down to their level if you let them. Trump gonna win. Works for me.

Damn Man! You get older every year!

You sure do keep changing your bullshit story.

First you preach about hydrogen which requires the burning of fossil fuels to make.

Then when you're proven wrong and made to look a complete idiot you post about lithium oxide batteries that in the end require the same basic construction techniques as the present lithium ion batteries.

I await your next change of direction bullshit post with great anticipation.

Broke steering cables, bent shafts and things but never had a motor failure. Lots of local and mid level tournaments for 30 years. Lots and lots of hours.

One day I won't! Strange story. I went to have cataract surgery a few months back. After the two different types of drops were administered to my eyes the anesthesiologist looking at my ecg said " he went into AFib". Call the squad. I felt fine but my heart felt like it was jumping out of my chest. AFib with tachycardia. 150 plus beats per minute and pacs all over the place. It took three days to get out of the hospital. Long story short I was in AFib and under some nasty meds like flecanaide for the last three months. I've cut my flec etc. down to 1/4 dose in the last month and am back to normal. I found an AFib website and found others have had a reaction to one of the drops used in cataract surgery. I had all kinds of tests so at least I know my heart etc. is healthy. I've never been overweight always exercise and take no meds. So enjoy the ride. And be careful when having surgery. Now I'll reschedule and go a different route for anesthesia.

I guess on ignore you go again. You aren't worth my time. My carbon footprint is extremely low. I have one small bag of garbage a week. The rest is recycled. I freeze and can most of our food. I'm pro electric. I have tried to start quail around here. I'm not really sure what your problem is and really don't care. You are a dullard.

Wow! I'm glad you pulled out of that! I had that surgery 14 years ago, how's your eyesight?

The right eye still needs the surgery. After I went into AFib they wouldn't do it until that was sorted out. I've learned a lot about heart electrophysiology. I had no idea the nerve running down the center of the heart was the "rythm center" for the heart. 20% over 70 will get AFib. I had never heard of it. I'll get my eyes fixed next year. I still see but almost failed my driver eye exam. I'm having knee surgery in a month after the corn and beans are done in the garden. I'm wore out. At least my joints. So smokem if ya gottem!
