I've just choosed a 24v driver with enough drive current for 1, 2, 4 or 6 QB18's. These Meanwell CV/CC drivers are available from HLG-40 to HLG-600w and from 12 to 54v. The CC only version from HLG-60 to HLG-600 so its pretty easy to find a siutable one.
Just divide the maximum wattage by 24v and you know how much current the driver has. 80w : 24v is 3,33 so an HLG-80H-24 should have 3,3 or 3,35A. Enough for 2 strips in parallel...
150w : 24v means 6,25A, enough to drive 3 QB18's in parallel at 2,083A which is close to the maximum. So to max out 3 QB18's an HLG-150H-24A or B would be the best fit.
Unfortunately there is no HLG-50 that fits perfect with a single strip so we have to look for the next siutable driver.

For plant researcher figuring out different spectra for different plant species and stages monochromatic light is more important. They can mix any type of white light they want by just mixing blue, green and red. If they have found the best veg and bloom spectrums working with all species they could create a white phosphor diode accordingly to create a veg and a bloom light. Osram has already done it with the horticulture Duris S5 and S10 series. To make it short, its a warmwhite CRI90+ and a coolwhite CRI70/80 spectrum.

Point is even if plants all use sunlight you can manipulate different species differently by creating a certain spectrum.
For leafy greens its for instance super effective to mix blue and deepred with yellow. Other taller plants(with intercanopy) rather like more green combined with blue and red(like tree's).
White diodes mix all these colors to a natural looking white light and compared to monochromatic diodes it's 3-5 times cheaper to just use white instead a combination of blue, green and red diodes.
Pretty sure such a Phytofy fixture costs at least 2 grand (or more) and has maybe only 200 or 400w in the best case.
It's a researcher light and for sure not the best solution to grow MJ.
Lets look at it from another POV..
We know a 3000°k spectrum is almost as efficient like a blue/deep-red combo with same efficiency. You can add lets say 50w deep- and far-red to 300w white to create an even better spectrum and a higher PAR output but you can also add 50w of white light and the final yield would not be much different.
The light with added deep red is probably a little more efficient and because of the far-red a little faster like 3000°k/CRI80 but in the end the difference would only be a few grams and if you use CRI90 white the run would be finished in the same time.
So in the end it only depends on how much are you willing to invest and which degree of optimization you want.
For now I am good for buying stuff I know that LOL

Once I can afford it and can buy beg or steal a proper instrument I will tell you what spectrum's it really is LOL
Chances are a knockoff is in the works somewhere, keeps me hopeful !
Likely circuit board kinda thing programmable like the UV dongle.
Cheers!

Here's where my real UV magic will happen.
Each of two LED fixtures has 3xQB288 3000k, 2xQBE96, 2xcutter super blue boards, 2x cutter 405nm boards.
On the perimeter are four HLG 730nm boards.
Surrounding the fixtures are three 39 watt Arcadia 12% UVB T5 lamps.
The main fixtures are dimmed with ilumi 4 channel controllers and on/off control with redundant 4 channel sonoffs
Arcadias and 730nm boards run off just sonoffs for now.
Hopefully this kicks my cinderella 99s (pineapple pheno) and serious bubblegums into high gear this cycle.
More work is required when more material arrives.

Nice.
AC infinity has controllers that do humidity too now.

Wow! What a nice fixture...!
Should push you cinderalla's to the limits! And the driver installation..
I suspect you are an electrician or work at least in this area.
Only one question... How many watts are there, lol? Looks like you can reach venus level brightness if you want...
Have I said it already...? Wow, wow, wow!!!

Thanks, Yea it can get absurdly bright. Each luminaire has the possibility of about 735 watts
So with 2 735 watt luminaires, plus 3x39 watt arcadias, plus the 730 reds cranked to full at 22.62 watts the total is 1609.6 Watts plus or minus a few after temp. stabilization. and extra t5 ballast wattage.
I have never run them on extreme though. I need to invest in CO2 and cooling to really push much further than half power.

on a side note, the next run after c99 and bubblegum should be a small run pheno hunt of Subcool's Strawberry Daiquiri and Ocean Grown Alien Rift

Yeah, either CO2 or you can expand to a bigger 40-50sft area sometime.
I build my fixtures also bigger than needed cuz I always sell them after 1 or 2 test runs. LED development is so fast if I keep them longer than that it's impossible to get my investment back. This way I always have latest generation LED's and can use my very 1st investment again and again.
Furthermore, it is the only way to satisfy my LED addiction, lol.
It's just too much fun to build new even better ones and you must certainly had a lot of fun.

Great idea's!
Gave me a few of my own to suit my need.
Have you tried the Cutter blues
(in addition to other lighting) on anything yet...if so what did you think?

I actually had a this stuff come yesterday
one-RoHS1709-HLG320H-48B
MEAN WELL LED Power Supplies

two-mean well 709-GSC40B-1400

one-HLG-240H-C2100B
MEAN WELL

Also have bunch of other stuff coming and so far no connectors it is killing me LOL
I am using the HLG320 48B with the 14 samsung 5000k strips.
The HLG240H-C2100B is for the four QB18's on heat sinks.
The smaller drivers are because the QB18's are going to be detachable and able to be used as side lighting etc with smaller driver in different area or tent for that matter. Then back to main grow area over flowering.
I decided everything must be move able and detachable to be able to PAR perfect as close as I can once I get a way either buy or borrow a proper meter to set up my lights as something like dialux won't work it is custom with too many variables.
Once I get stumped and I will I'll be back lol

Lol! That happend to me all the time...
I build something and have odered some of the misc parts like connectors from china to save a few bucks and it tooks weeks until they arrive and often they get lost completely or they have shipped the wrong ones and I need to order them again. Pretty fustrating when you have to wait for a few connectors to finish your fixture..

This time the thermal tape I've ordered hasn't arrived and also two smaller 600mA drivers got lost. They have also shipped a few connectors that don't fit, lol!
Screenshot_20190614-111659.png

But I can not wait another few weeks, I need them now! So currently I'm trying to find the missing parts locally. Thermal tape I have already but I need two smaller dimmable drivers for my mono's and 2 pairs of fitting connectors. 2 HLG-40H-54B would work even if I would only use half the driver power with ~30v but its the only way to get the additional mono's dimmable.
Good thing is I could use such an Ilumi 0-10v 4 channel controller if I have 4 HLG-drivers. So it also has a positiv aspect that the 1st ones have not arrived, lol. These cheapo 600mA drivers would not work with 0-10v dimming.
I only need to find that 4 channel Ilumi board shipped per airmail. Makes no sense to wait another few weeks; I need the lights end of this month..

I love those aviation connectors. They're so dope.
