This is one of the best speeches I've seen in 2019 for sure. Jon Stewart has been fighting this frontline for 18 fucking years. Without him, concerns about 9/11 responders healthcare would be so far forgotten by now and that chamber wouldn't have a single ass in the seat (talking about the congress). His passionate concern is infectious and extremely inspiring, I actually shed a few tears along with him while listening. Dude commanded that entire room and showed the kind of leadership exemplified only in movies or text. The mic drop at the end was the cherry on top. I really hope he enters into politics at some point, but I also hope he doesn't, we need people like him right now. Great clip.
That's the extent of our actual representation. Everyone I've ever spoken to about this agrees with your sentiment here. Foreign, domestic, everyone. You put your life on the line to save others in an emergency, you should be taken care of, no questions asked, whatever you need. Everyone I know would gladly pay more in taxes to make this happen. The sad reality is, corporations run our country, and dying 911 responders don't make the company profits.
We in Canada are no better. We officially through the VA have just under 1000 homeless vets. So if that is the official number it is a given that the real number is much higher.
Me too, man. "We can't afford it" is not an excuse. Cut the fuckin billion dollar military budget, don't order a couple F35s, do something, anything, these people deserve whatever they need. You can vote to increase the military budget by billions per year while a fraction of a percentage of that would cover this issue forever.. our government is made up of self serving individuals. Our institutions have ensured it to be that way. How much pressure can the cooker take? Idk, but it feels like it's getting loud..

That clip is better then any comedy bit he has ever done by far. I am Canadian, and we have our own problems, but I am honestly shocked that those people haven't been taken care of without question from day one.
But they sure did use those sick heroes every chance they have had for their own benefit.
