H.A.F. growing stink-flowers in dirt with QB's

My next seed order will most likely have NL seeds in the mixpack. If it smokes as good as it grows I may like it a lot.

Just showing pistils underneath and the tops are in the "pre-pop" stage with all the future bud leaves popping out.

Only 2 days of 12 hours dark, and the Hulk is stretching.

In preparation for explosive growth, I have put baby in the corner ;)

I did go back after looking at the pic and raise her up (the force wasn't helping ;) )

So to shorten future typing - I have dubbed the Skywalker OG "Princess Leah" ;) She might have the force, but she's a scrawny little thing.

I'll post more when I figure it out, but I am now in "use up the nutes" mode. I'm setting aside the brand new Gen-Hydro dry stuff that will last.

So far, based on what I have the most of without reordering for a while, I have the FF Gringo Rasta set. Quart bottles seem to last a while longer with that than the FF Trio. They lack some of the micro-nutes, and have no microbes and stuff. The FFHF and FFLD soils claim to have them as well, but I don't know enough about them.

Seeing what it lacks that the others have, the Flower Kiss and the Microbe Brew seem to catch all the assorted "other" nutes, and add a butt-load of good micro-bugs.

The Bembe cane sweetener (or comparable) also calls itself "microbe-food". Makes sense. Adding that too, but that could be molasses just as easy. Now that I know what it does besides add carbs and sweetness to the buds I will be sure to use something.

Still looking into the Big Bloom (the organic part of the FF trio) It adds very little as far as NPK, and organics supposedly won't burn, and the plants seem to love it. If anyone knows more, feel free. If nothing else I was thinking of just doing the ppm math and substituting part of the Gringo feed with the Big Bloom.

And if you're new here - I take notes for myself, but welcome input.

Here's a good reason why I have been harvesting early when the plant has leaf issues - Bottom right, as the sugar leaves die, so to the trichomes. On the edge of the dying leaf yo can see the corresponding amber tops. So if it keeps going, as soon as most are milky she's done. You can't go by ambers when they aren't caused by ripeness.

Last LST on the Hulk. Since she's stretching I want to give that big set of sprouts on each limb light and room. After this I think everything goes vertical.
IMG_9550.JPG
I may have one in each room by the time it's all done. The NL is as tall as it's gonna get but she's bushy already with no flowers yet, but I have no idea about the hulk. I just saved a few inches in height, but if I have to keep them in the same room I can't let her get outside the box.

I am revising my "all nutes are the same" statement. I stick by that for the basic NPK.

BUT the front and right plants are the 2 Fox farms plants, with both the supplemental stuff and the FF crystals (beastie bloomz etc.)
IMG_9560.JPG
The two without that stuff are already browning and tightening up, the FF plants are still bulking, with few browns. The others may get a second growth spurt, but I doubt it.

This was the lights-on pic. My stretching yesterday on the Hulk was fully recovered, but the shoots I exposed were all re-shaded by those 4 center fan leaves...
IMG_9554.JPG
Fixed it :) Pruned exactly 4 leaves, then I noticed the shoot in the box was growing funny. IMG_9562.JPG
When I un-tucked it I noticed the little lines running up the stem were rotated. The one below the box was too, so I un-twisted them.
IMG_9565.JPG
Might just be the OCD kicking in, but I think it will help it grow more evenly in the long run. It is a very uniform plant, and even the bigger stems are still soft and flexible. MIght be a sativa thing, but I will eventually try a monster manifold with this strain. The genetics seem made for it. If I get some height out of those middle 8 sprouts I may get a nice even canopy without having to stretch it too much laterally.

And anytime you want to see a pic of the Northern Lights, let me know ;) I love this plant!

Absolutely gorgeous! Praying hard
This plant is exactly why I don't like crowding ;)
With the good lights, if they can spread out even the undergrowth gets fat. If they are crowded together you get more plants, but nothing under the top canopy.

As soon as I harvest my skunk plants the little manifold is moving and she gets the room to herself.

the Boredom strikes again!
This is how I want to grow. One plant, lots of room. It's cool how the pruning effected the different limbs exactly the same. The front two were the limb that was topped early. The two mid-height limbs were the ones that had an extra shoot left on early, and the tallest was just prunes until flip.
IMG_9573.JPG
So for now I will put up with thisIMG_9569.JPG
It's actually not too crowded, but the stretch is coming on the 2 new additions. Hopefully it lasts until I chop at least one of the other plants. The one in the foreground is ripening quickest, and doesn't show signs of new growth.

That is a gorgeous NL plant, who produced the seeds?

They are from ILGM.
https://shop.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/products/northern-lights-marijuana-seeds?variant=695791245
Long story short, they guarantee germination. read their replacement policy.
I got a "10+10free" deal on the Superskunk. 6 didn't pop, all probably my fault, but I got 5GDP a the one NL seed as replacements.

So far everything from them has produced fat buds if I can get the plant to that point. I finally figured out that they are advertising "wet harvest" in their plant descriptions.
So when they say 12-14oz per square whatever, I think it is a good single plant estimate for a 5 gallon pot grow. The "advanced techniques" like pruning and LST are what get you that little extra.

I have seen a few gnats, so I'm making water now and they are all getting soaked tonight at lights on.

Here's the link I used to double check the h2o2 ratio,
https://www.ilovegrowingmarijuana.com/marijuana-pests-fungus-gnats/
But the gist is 4:1 water to h202. Let the soil dry, then just water with this mix. As it oxidizes (breaks back down into water and oxygen) it kills the larvae.

I have had gnat traps and extra fans, and it doesn't look bad (didn't see a gnat today) but I want to be safe. I waited because they all got fed last and were due for plain water next. Also because it was the last feed for at least 2 of the 4 skunk and they were due to get flushed anyway. Luckily they will all be dry enough by tonight.

BUD PORN

Had to check trichomes so here we go

Dyna-Gro - Least ugly of the bunch. Lots of milky ones, a few amber - one to watch close. The ambers are really light golden though, so I want to see if they get darker.
Some new growth, but nothing explosive - no special PK boost in their sample pack, so you get what you pay for. Smells awesome!
dg1.JPG dg2.JPG
FF Gringo Not as fat as the FF Trio, but at about the same stage of ripeness. These two might get another feeding next week.
ffg1.JPG ffg2.JPG
The FF Trio. About 8 of the tops are getting gnarly and will foxtail. Its actually happening before the first round of pistils got fully ripe this time (that, or they have just been coming out continuously). Watching for nanners just in case. I with the bitch was healthier - I would have had that contest in the bag ;)
fft1.JPG fft2.JPG
And the GenHydro
Same as the dynagro ripeness wise and also putting out a few new pistils with zero bulk. Still mostly clear though.
Does not have the aroma of the DG plant at the same stage.
I'll smoke that shit anyway LOL

Since I don't have any C-vaults available :bigjoint: I am letting these go long. I want at least one plant to be of the coucho-locko variety.

After looking at the dynagro pics closer, she is at the amber content where I would think about harvesting. After the peroxide flush tonight and a few day drying period we'll see. She might be the candidate since I don't want a lot of it.

That said I ordered some plain (high grade) stainless steel 'food' containers to see how they work out. No Boveda pack holder obviously, but I would just be tossing a pack in anyway if I went to the mason jars. I'll let you know how they work out. might be a waste.

The only negatives in the reviews were about replacing the silicone seal after washing it - which I rarely do anyway, I'm storing flowers not spaghetti sauce. One person mentioned that the clamps weren't that sturdy, and I can probably agree with that just looking at the style compared to the c-vault clamps. But these don't get the wear and tear a lunch pail would, so I'll let you know how it works out. If it does, then getting huge ones would be astronomically cheaper than the c-vault commercial size.

2.7g, and I worked it out to 27 doses. That means .1 gram of keif per, or 50mg per dose.
Pro tip - There's 26 in the tray.
I get a big glass bowl, and rinse everything with boiling water - into the bowl. Stir it up good, then put it in the fridge. the keif skeletons sink, the infused butter floats and solidifies. Last (first) dose in there ;) I hit that shit up as a tester

As it cools, any keif settles to the bottom. You could filter it, but why bother. Some end up with way more than others, but I have noticed no difference in strength. I think the infusion part of the NOVA rocks too.

Ive been pressed before and just put the butter in a cup of hot tea... Not too bad... Flavor it with your favorite tea.
