Personally I think what a woman does with her body is her business but if a woman is having abortions more than once as a form of birth control then I'm going to think much less of her.
We all make mistakes and I'm the product of such a mistake. Given up for adoption at birth tho when my parents adopted me at 16 months my birth mother was reluctant to sign the adoption papers so I think she may have wanted to keep me. I was basically in foster care until then. Pretty happy that abortion was illegal back in the 50s. lol
In the case of rape or first time youthful indiscretion then sure. If it's just careless sex and say the 3rd time then that person is not likely to be a responsible parent so maybe they get that abortion only if they get their tubes tied. If they aren't agreeable to that then they can carry the baby to term and give it up for adoption. Babies get adopted almost right away as there is a shortage of those. Very often the pregnancy will change a woman's mind and she will want that baby by the time it's born and be a great mom.
After my 2nd son I didn't want any more kids and my spousal unit was Catholic and wouldn't get her tubes tied so I went and got snipped at age 30. No regrets. She split when the boys were 7 and 9 so I became a single dad until they grew up and flew the coop.
None of us, man or woman, has total autonomy of our bodies or drugs wouldn't be illegal. No one has the right to tell me what I put in my body but they sure try. Most of it is due to our hypocritical Judaeo/Christian attitudes towards pleasure. If it makes you high and happy then it must be sinful so you need to be punished. Except for tobacco and booze tho because tax money is good and they are accepted forms of pleasure. Screw that fucked up crap!
There is most likely no god, no heaven and no hell so relax and enjoy your life. A person should have the right to do whatever they want as long as it does not interfere with the rights of others. That's the credo I live by and have since becoming a Minister of the Universal Life Church back in '77 for $5.

If a woman is raped ,she had no choice and the pregnancy could be seen as not within her power to prevent. She's a victim of another persons actions.
If a woman becomes pregnant, but not thru rape, her wanting to end the pregnancy could be described as becoming a "victim" of her own actions or choices.
Should the circumstances of how the pregnancy happened matter?
Also, I don't think abortion is okay (from the fetus point of view), but I believe it's a private matter and not for me to make those choices for other people.

The issue becomes divisive since the definition of what "human person" means isn't fixed.
Some think it occurs at conception, some in utero after X number of weeks and some after exiting the mothers body etc.

All primates reserve the right to kill their offspring. Even the highland gorilla, the best mom of all the primates will kill her child if her life is in danger. Human mothers will never equal the level of care gorilla moms have for their kid. {they raise one child until sexual maturity before they have sex again. Hairy primates, just like the hairless ones, all have 28 day menstrual cycles, so they can get pregnant when they want to}

I think the accepted definition of conception is it starts after the sperm hits the target.
Does that mean we now have a human person? I'm not sure, seems a little premature.
Somewhere between conception and birth human characteristics become more pronounced. Pain is felt, but is there cognition? I don't remember any, but that's not the same as saying nothing is there.
I'm usually pretty logical, but there is very little finite in this process that makes me think there is a magic transformation moment. I'm uncertain, but open to others thoughts.

Being a primate, I guess I have been studying them all my life. But there is a really good NOVA that covers the subject.
The fact they wait to have more kids until the current one is grown is one of the reasons they are in such danger. If they would be more like people, and have some fun, the spit out the kid 9 months later, their numbers would be back in the safe range before long. Not sure if that would give enough time to train them in all it takes to live.
