Your saying.. for a canopy that's basically 4.8'x4.8'x6'... could use HALF of 700watts as your implying that 700 is in fact WAY too much??

I am trying to hit that 3gpw.. lol at this point in the game, I can declare nothing is impossible.. maybe the tech is not here yet but look how HEATH pulled over 2+ when ppl were shooting just to avg 0.5-0.8gpw in his time...

As you can run them so close to the plants it changes everything. You don't want too much light intensity in one spot. I would have thought that 400 watts would be plenty of light, it may make a difference according to how fast its turning though, if it's turning fast then yes you could give it more power. The only way to know is to build it and see, you will still need the same amount of boards so price wise there won't be much difference

My plans are to have a ppfd of 900 when 6" away... So 400 watts may do that... It may take 800... I don't know the formula to calculate that

900 is like more than enough as plants will be able to handle ppf of 800-900 coming into flower.. since they are clone of mature mother's...

It will be more than 900ppfd, but only when it's hitting directly in front of the light. I will try to work it out for you with how it will be with 4 bars

If I grow mother's in a separate area and cut clones @6" tall & throw immediately into 12/12 the plants will not grow over 20" tall.. I will be training them to grow single cola... Each net pot spaced 5-6" apart in all directions.. super tight, super packed...
It's simple to just SNIP off what's overgrown for you. These plants can take a beating. And a topping ain't shit

I hope to the electric gods that 350-500watts is enough for this area which will allow me extra wattage room to create another... Space isn't a problem.. it's wattage.. afraid to go over a certain lvl if u guys understand. Lol

Remember my canopy will be atleast 18" deep so that light needs the be strong enough to hit 9-1000 at the tips to hit like 3-500 at base canopy with proper lighting & training

Most ppl do 2 defoliations but with my method , I plan to only allow fan leafs towards the bottom of canopy which will force the leafs in the bud to do photosynthesis Thats closer to the light and go directly to the buds no traveling... I don't think fan leafs are the only leaves that do photosynthesis right?? Those little leafs in the bud do too???

Actually, that is the only & MAIN factor I'm missing... How can I calculate the PPF if I have PLC strips running at 25watts a piece 6" away from top canopy because now that you mention... This setup may only need 330 watts to achieve 950 ppf @6" away or it may need 800... This is a big key that I'm missing...
