First journal so here goes:
Tent: 3'x3'
Lamp: HLG QB260v2 3000k with DIY retrofit x2 Samsung LT-F564B 3500k (may swap for PLC if availability allows) @ 1400mA
Plants: Humboldt Seeds Blue Dream (from clones - rooting now, Day 7)
Grow Style: Flood and Drain (2'x2' ID table) basic bitch status
Grow Medium: (mixed) 1 gal fabric pots filled with 70% rock wool cubes topped with hydroton (for support)
Nutrients: GH Maxibloom, GH Silica, GH Cal Mag (as needed)

Plan: Flip to 12/12 immediately after transplant shock is over

My last grow in this tent pulled far more weight than I expected so i'm really excited to try again with the additional light - the outer canopy definitely could have used a boost in photons. This is my first attempt at a SoG. Last grow was 5x Pineapple OG Kush clones, mom came from Royal Queen Seeds, topped once and then scrogged. I have no reason to deviate from that style other than sheer curiosity so even if I end up with less weight, I'll get to stop wondering about this style.

New lamp ready to rip!

Clones taking root - i know they look pretty sad and it's true, the mom was a little neglected due to travel but interestingly, I've never seen my clones root so fast. I've cloned this mom before, same method (dwc) but from a healthier mom, and I barely had nubs at this stage so exactly 7 days and here they are:

Transplant should take place by next weekend. Stay tuned. :)

How much did you yield on the last grow mate

That’s a nice yield of 260 watts mate fuck yeah
Thanks, I was surprised myself and wondered if i'd be able to pull a lb - maybe with the added strips. Blue Dream can be a heavy yielder I've heard too...maybe I'll have that pheno

Clones transplanted and in their new homes. I hope this seat-of-the-pants DTW conversion was a good idea haha - I ran it a bunch of times until the medium was all pH'd to 6, also helped me to work all the kinks out of the system. I'm only running the outer strips until the transplant shock is over, then the HLG boards go on. Maybe Friday I'm guessing if things move at the speed of my ebb/flow rates anyway.

Well what I thought was strictly transplant shock turned out to also be (primarily) a Nitrogen deficiency. I had been running a pretty light mix of nutrients overall but last night I increased the EC by .5 (overall) with an added boost of Nitrogen using CX Hydroponics' growth enhancer (N-boosting formula). I'm kinda glad things went a little off course as it really helps you to learn the plant's nuances not to mention the growing system. So far I think I liked the early start of the flood/drain setup better, but I can already see the advantages of run-to-waste - the plants spoke to me (feed me N) and I was very easily and quickly able to respond without having to flush a ton of nutrients. Speaking of the reservoir, its nice having minimal to no pH drift too. Next weekend they will be topped, flipped, and the screen will be installed.

IMG_5384.JPG Turned off my 3k lamp so the color was more accurate - new growth coming in good (I know its not perfect but I'm trying to keep up with this plant and I'm a newbie to DTW), fast, and big. I'm actually a little worried about tent height but I have some backup plans if it becomes a problem. I can tell easily though, she's gonna be a grower. Tomorrow I'll top and flip.

They are looking so much better now aye man,yep they needed more N for sure.
Are you not going to use the balls on the top now or add them later if needed

Not sure what you mean - are you asking if I'll be adding more medium over the pots? If so, no. I'm not worried about algae or anything. The canopy is already thicker and by Friday I think they'll be totally shaded. Also I'd have to cut new tubing and yeah way too lazy for that lol.

Lights just went. With the 3k lamp off the green is looking very nice now. That top right plant has been a lagger all along but I also noticed less runoff from her than any other plant while irrigating and maybe that's why the leaves also look kinda shitty so I hand fed her a bit more. If she recovers, I guess I'll have to work that into my routine. Tbh I did not check flow from the watering sites so i have no idea if it is flowing evenly. Stupid mistake but so far, I think I still like flood and drain better because it is far less fickle. Oh and these are all topped now except the back middle plant which was the smallest going in and already had 2 tops so I left her be.

I thought u said if your first post you were going to use hydroton for support but u ment you used that on your last one i take it.
Im very interested in moving to LEDs ,im humming and harring over a twin 315 CMH or DE 1000w or LEDs ,The choices haha
Yeah i agree Flood n drain is awesome!Veg growth is so much faster than the coco im used to,ive seen afew people using rockwool so i may give that a try next thought i do like the hydroton as im having no problems(so far)
Good luck bro

Haha maybe I did say that. I clearly often change my mind. The dripper stands held fine in the grow cubes so I left them be.

Re: lamp debates. If heat weren’t a constant struggle for my environment, I’d go cmh with led’s to even the spread personally.

This morning. Nothing really new going on here, they're just growing. :D

I've also been on the fence with with a cocotek mat so I ordered one yesterday and will place it in the tray by this weekend. I'm seeing too many roots trying to find a place to go so I will provide one. Shoulda/woulda/coulda from the start. I'll also re-arrange the plants while I'm at it and add the net.

I'd have gone with that 9th plant :)
Haha it was a no-go with the fabric pots, looks like enough room but there is not. I take a hybrid approach to SoG and will use a screen as well. Last time I filled the screen with 5 plants topped once.
