No. There is a clear line between the 2 parties. There maybe faults with both of them but fundamentally the Dems have always fought for the poor and the GOP only fights for the rich. Spin it how you want, but there is a clear winner when it comes to "fair" policy making or "balanced" policy making.
And people, the republicans didn't embrace Trump. He stole their party and laughed all the while. The traditional party did not embrace him, but were forced to deal with him after his racist rhetoric drummed up a presidential win. They realized how ignorant their base was and couldn't come out condemning trump now that it was apparent he had the ear of the mob. It was too difficult to face a political battle with an idiot and so the gutless GOP caved under the opportunity and now reluctantly caters to the mob. The traditional GOP knew they had the racist following but didn't use it and embrace that group like trump and he stole the face of their party. The GOP has been in trouble ever since Bush Jr though so it didn't take much to control the circus, the animals had been loose for awhile...

I think you are a bit too kind about Republicans, their chosen leader and its racist base. The party has used dog-whistles and racist policies to attract the southern white vote and racist leaning white men since the days of Nixon and especially Reagan. Donald didn't steal these people, he played their tunes and played led them down the garden path but they were always there.
Otherwise, totally agree, it is naive to say that Republicans and Democrats are the same.

Bill Clinton passed NAFTA over there strenuous objections of unions- and we know how that turned out.
Obama bailed out the banks, not homeowners.
Joe Biden was responsible for for making sure student loans aren't dischargeable by bankruptcy.
Senator Micheal Bennett (D Colorado) has taken more money from Wall Street and the banksters than any other elected official anywhere- and he made sure to thank them by eviscerating Dodd-Frank, opening the door to another massive crash like 2008 by removing the regulatory controls put in place to prevent it.
Almost all Democrats have repeatedly voted for increased military spending and record 'Defense' budget increases.
If these are the people you think represent you, fine- but they don't represent me.
I'm sick and fucking tired of hearing about how they have the interests of the working and middle classes at heart when even a cursory look at their record screams exactly the opposite.
I'm voting for Bernie, or failing that another Socialist candidate. Runaway capitalism got us into this mess, in large part by buying our political system along with both parties. It is absurd to think that continuing to do the same thing will have any different result.

Where are the subsidies for converting to electric cars? Where are the subsidies for solar and wind power? Why are we allowing energy utilities across the country to refuse to pay for energy generated from consumer installed solar and wind?

Next time you see a piece of legislation, do me a favour, look at what the bill is trying to accomplish and look who will benefit and then look at who is for and opposed, you'll see, repub 99% of the time are swindling uneducated voters with slick legislation designed only to bolster the pockets of the rich while touching on some twisted emotional aspect to dupe their constituency into voting against itself..
