The leaf strip documented in this thread happened on day 14 of the flower cycle, which would be a full 2 weeks into the flower cycle. I have done leaf stripping in this fashion during the vegetative cycle and it's not at a set time frame. In my experience I do it when the plants are ready for it. Meaning I'm trying to slow down vertical growth and promote upward growth from lower nodes thus creating a wider plant,Hope this helps.
 
Day 16 of flower,

So here we are 2 days after that intense leaf strip. As you can tell new fan leafs are popping out all over, soon enough you won't be able to tell that leaf strip happened!

Looking well, one thing I think you should look at is the nod spacing. Having that big a space between nods some people like, if so then ignore the rest, but to me that's wasted space that bud sites could be populating and increasing yields. Looking at the tops closer to the lights show tighter internodal spacing, because of the light intensity. So rather than letting them grow up into the light why not just lower the light from the start and raise as required. Efficient lighting is great but it does not stop there. Just my opinion on what I see.
Light fixture looks really cool.

@zypheruk thank you for the good vibes...I've been trying to get her to stack better with internodal spacing for some time now and have not quite got her to stack how I want. She has one of the most drastic stretches in the beginning of flower which creates them large gaps. I've tried slamming the light and she still does it. I think it may be just one of her characteristics, But I will continue to dial her in to get the results I'm looking for. Thank you for the tips.
 
@calitrees916 it could well just be the cut, I have a couple a Dinafem Gorilla plants from seed and two of them is giving big node spacing then all of a sudden bang they tightened right up, mines still in veg but just seemed strange.
Im gonna follow along as your grow is well documented and presented and not full of hype.
 
@zypheruk id greatly appreciate the follow...im doing my best, as time permits, to document this round. If you should have any questions in perspective to my growing techniques and or application from lighting, watering, environment, etc feel free to ask. I'm honestly glad that I got around to publicly documenting, for the most part, a full grow from start to finish. Also if there should be any details that you feel I should be covering please bring it up. Thanks bud
 
Day 17 of flower

Only 3 days after the intense leaf strip the fan leafs are really starting to open up again. With that being said I've been monitoring the moisture levels of my coco and they are starting to drink again. So now it's time to start adding back more watering time to the 6 daily intervals of my watering schedule. I had to cut my watering time in half and slowly bring the watering time back up since the intense leaf strip.

Better developed bud sites, less larfy buds. I can't say concretely that my yield as increased as it's a fairly new technique that I've applied to my growing style, but it does help I'm sure.

It has now been a complete week or 7days since the intense leaf strip, which my partner and I call the "GML Strip" and my plants have now fully recovered. The plants never seemed to have been stunted from the leaf strip (like they didn't slow down growing much). In perspective to watering I did have to cut back the amount of water I was feeding them due to the leaf strip, which causes the plants to drink slower than normal (no fan leafs means less photosynthesis will occur, at least that's my thoughts).The reason for the cut back on water was I did not want to over water and end up water logging my plants. Over the past week I have cut the water amount in half and have slowly built it back up to where it was prior the leaf strip. So watering schedule is back to normal and I should be able to increase it some more before the plateau happens.

No I will not be doing another intense leaf strip, however I will pull off fan leafs if they are covering a decent or main kola from getting light. I don't like bud sites to be covered with fan leafs. So a very minimal strip during this next week and then the room will be in cruise control.

It's interesting reading through your posts. Struggling to understand the whole leaf strip process but it isn't there first place I've seen this. Surely by taking the leaves off, the plant cannot do as much photosynthesis and therefore cannot develop the buds as much? Sure there's nothing preventing nutrient uptake from the soil, but I am just thinking that then the plant focuses more energy on making new leaves . I could be wrong but that's my current understanding.
Brilliant setup and grow so far. I'll be sure to watch till the end.
How are you finding the sunset sherbet?
How long do you typically veg for ? And flowering ?
