i will respect them if they strike over this new rule. as well as for money, fuck the rich ownersOh they will.....if the cap is too small.
One would think that free speech warrants a 35% tariff. It is pretty incredible really. The NFL is embarrassed with the spectacle or maybe Trump called and threatened a 25% tariff (his favorite number for everything). But it is kind of hard to feel sorry for millionaires playing a game. I do love the sport. It fills my Sundays for 20 weeks in the fall.
And I do understand the level of commitment required to play at the NFL level. MONSTROUS level of commitment. Diet and training for years.
I kind of liked the whole solidarity thing. It also helped drive good conversation with my son who needs to understand the stupid that is in the world. Not everyone is colour blind like I am. There is a lot of disparity among the races.
I would think hockey would be all over it too. It took a long time for races other than Caucasian to be pro. But times are a changing. And maybe they just get to smash it out on the ice.
Welcome to Walmart.I'd rather watch a bunch of old people autocrossing their rascal scooters than a NASCAR race
Yea, I'm a Formula 1 fan.Never saw the charm, same with Indy cars driving in a circle.
A strike is likely when the current contract ends in a few years. I don't think they will strike over this. There is no need to.i will respect them if they strike over this new rule. as well as for money, fuck the rich owners
They should get their affairs in order first and send Schuylaar her chicken nuggets.A strike is likely when the current contract ends in a few years. I don't think they will strike over this. There is no need to.
What I'd like to see is mass demonstration where everybody defies the rule by taking a knee and triggers team fines. Teams can fine players which would then be contested. Where I hope this goes is some teams are good about paying the fine and protecting the players while some don't. Imagine if players refused to play for the shitty ones and favored good teams like the Jets. I hope it all blows up in Roger Gooddell's face.
My mom is banned from using the motorized shopping carts because she knocked over a Boboli rack trying to do a U-turnWelcome to Walmart.
I'm really looking forward to this. What should we call it Obama directed FBI spying. Or do you think it was comney running this op? Who do you think will be indicted next?
I don't get to protest while I'm at work, why should they? Bottom line is they r employees; their stupid 'cause' reflects poorly on the nfl and it is costing them money. The nfl has every right to tell them to stop. The NFL announced today that any player that refuses too stand in a respectful manner next season, in a straight line, holding their helmets in their left hands at the playing of the national anthem, will face disciplinary actions
No more on the field protests against injustices.
It seems that Trump has gotten his way, again
What the fuck has this country become in the span of 18 months, where a citizens right (yea, NFL players are citizens) to peacefully protest against injustices by not standing for the National Anthem, and when the fucking POTUS yell's "Fire them", and the moneygrubbing owners bow to their new fucking Fuhrer's demand, and limits their employees ability to express their 1st Amendment rights.
I know what, a fascist state run by a clown who demands unmitigated loyalty, and screams about the "Deep State", when confronted about his own criminal actions.
Yea, and Hillary sucked, right?
Fuck me
Let me shoot your momma in the back.I don't get to protest while I'm at work, why should they? Bottom line is they r employees; their stupid 'cause' reflects poorly on the nfl and it is costing them money. The nfl has every right to tell them to stop.
Not anymore.Yea, I'm a Formula 1 fan.
Now that's racing
The NFL, and all Americans are free to become communists.I don't get to protest while I'm at work, why should they? Bottom line is they r employees; their stupid 'cause' reflects poorly on the nfl and it is costing them money. The nfl has every right to tell them to stop.
There is often a difference between legal and what is the right thing to do. Nobody is challenging the owner's legal right to order players to stand during the national anthem. The union might because the owners used a technical legality to write this rule without consulting them. Whatever.I don't get to protest while I'm at work, why should they? Well that is still an option, and I doubt any player will be penalized for staying in the locker room. It is obvious that the protestors decision to disrespect our country in the name of their cause, something that is clearly not sponsored at a national level, has created a lot of animosity from Americans (customers of the NFL) who previously didnt have an opinion on this matter. Do police treat blacks differently, on average, than they treat white or asian people when they are suspected of a crime, I think so. Is the different treatment justified? There is a lot of evidence suggesting that it may be... From the officers perspective at least. Im not so sure the majority of it can be chalked up to blantant racism as much as them learning to be extra cautious when dealing with certain groups of people. There is often a difference between legal and what is the right thing to do. My objection to the new rule is the mirror opposite of when people objected to players kneeling. I think owners interfering in this issue to tell black men they can't use the National anthem to express their support for Black Lives Matter is offensive. There is a racist aspect to this that we can't ignore either. It's an ugly echo from the past where rich white men tell a black men whom they have power over that they must stand and respect the national anthem, cap in hand. A terrible image.
It is my hope that many players on all teams, if not all players, will take a knee during the anthem. Teams will get fined. Teams can fine players and players can refuse to play for those teams. We'll see what happens next but I think that would be absolutely the best thing to happen.
The smartest thing for the owners to do would have been to tell players to stay in the locker room until the anthem is over. That's what players did before 2008 or thereabout.
it's ok to say if you are looking in a mirror.....Free speech lol .. i can't even say , "thats retarded" anymore.
