Yes lol.. Stick one tester on one side of the diode, stick the other on the other side. If you test more than 2.9 its not a lm561c diodeWait... is it literally as simple as just testing the voltage with a multimeter?

Ya, looked more into it. I was hoping I could distinguish between lm561c s6, and 5 with a multimeter, but the only way you can tell apparently is between the flux which I doubt I have the means to test.Yes lol.. I agree. If I got S5s I'll be content with that, I'm sure it'll grow great weed regardless, but I'll want some compensation from the sell since I paid for S6s.We know for sure the dot is much more apparent on lm561b and b+ thats a fact however for the phosphor color you cant rely on that as it doesnt mean anything really BIN are rated by luminosity not by color so they could be discrepency so yes looks like the board has lm561c now which bin.. I think I saw somewhere we could ruled out s4 as they were produced for a specific market if im not mistaken.. so either s5 or s6 but at this point ... the truth is 50% price for AT MOST 10-15% difference between s5 and s6.. for value it doesnt get much better than that imo
The "visible black dot" is not from different bin but different diodes (b or b+) C still have that dot its just not as apparent as the B or b+.. also looking stricly at voltage could be misleading too, different temp, current, etc can impact the voltage and as mentionned in a previous post there is some overlap with different diodes available at different voltage even the s6 bin is available in different voltage (AY, AZ, A1 - according to the samsung calculator)I agree. If I got S5s I'll be content with that, I'm sure it'll grow great weed regardless, but I'll want some compensation from the sell since I paid for S6s.
I don't think the phosphor powder is affecting the bin, my theory is that the visability of the dot could be an indication though. I mean, there has to be some sort of physical defect that causes these LEDs to be binned differently, and maybe that's it.
Nah, you have to show the customs proof of payment and they cross check it with the website you declare you bought it from. However, I did order them anyway. Ordered 2x260W kits.YOLO. I figured whatever LEDs they used, they're still better than my 277W Meizhi LED. I'm planning on selling one kit to recoup a bit of the cost of shipping.and for the guy from EU - china will lower the value of your package to whatever you want so in terms of custom vat and all the rest its probably not even worth considering but obviously im not in EU so I dont know all the specifics either..
What I'm seeing is a difference between the dot across lm561Cs. I ordered S6s, and 5s from digikey, and the dot is noticibly darker on the 5s. I'm not saying this means all 5s have a darker dot, just that mine do, and it could potentially be a sign of S5 vs a S6. Or it could be completely meaningless. The "visible black dot" is not from different bin but different diodes (b or b+) C still have that dot its just not as apparent as the B or b+
I get what you're saying, but Chinese business practices aside I have an agreement with the seller that I'm paying them x dollars for a specific product. If they made a mistake, and I got the wrong LEDs I just want things made right. You say you want "compensation" because you paid for "S6" well no.. you paid to get a pcb board with LED diodes on it from a country who is known to produce in mass with poor business practices.. your "compensation" is in the lower price you pay compared to the retail price of such boards. If I knew the boards I bought were s5 The truth is I would have still bought them. To me its not as bad as th viparspectra or mars hydro claiming big wattage but deliver short in actual power and efficiency. From s5 to s6 lm561c its no big deal IMO..
Ya mine all came to $637.54 CAD from Alibaba. From HLG it would have been $980.35 CAD. Even if they're S5s it'll take me approximately 19 years of continuous growing for the electrical cost of a 5% loss in efficiency to equalize with the $it cost me 430$usd for 2 full kits(4boards, heatsink, wires, drivers, 2 days shipping, customs, etc) while from HLG it would have been 600usd+shipping+ custom on the full price.. I am in Canada..
what color spectrum? i think color spectrum will also affect visibility of the dot a little bitI my Leds, and boards today. Who wants to try, and identify everything?

I've got a usb microscope coming tomorrow so I'll be able to get some better shots of everything assuming it works.
I've got lm561C S6s, and 5s in 3500k, and 3000k. In both spectrums the S6s don't have a visible dot while the S5s do.what color spectrum? i think color spectrum will also affect visibility of the dot a little bit
i think it's where the electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection device is, but not 100% on that.I've got lm561C S6s, and 5s in 3500k, and 3000k. In both spectrums the S6s don't have a visible dot while the S5s do.
Cant wait to see -i think it's where the electrostatic discharge (ESD) protection device is, but not 100% on that.
my boards from miejiu look more similar to S5 but idc.. i paid something like $30 for each 304pc board incl/ heatsink. i ordered same color spectrum + diode count/voltage as my HLG qb304s and in 1week when i'm done flowering i'll compare output (in lux only... no par meter)
i ordered my driver in canada (arrow), i got 2x 304 and 2x single heatsink and i think it was ~$100 after shipping then $28 CAD for import+DHL fees and $100 for driver (HLG-320-1400A).. after everything it was about $0.65-$0.70 per wattCant wait to see -
Meijiu price list from a recent message from them :
1. Board 304: USD25.35
2. single heatsink: USD10.48
3. 2 board heatsink: USD18.22
4. driver HLG-240H-C2100B: USD54.69
5. dimmer: USD10.65
Obviously expect higher than normal shipping charges but it gives everyone an idea at least
Cant really see and tell for sureView attachment 4145796 View attachment 4145797 View attachment 4145800
Could someone tell me what diode is this?
Thank you

U need a better photo or is just impossible to check?Cant really see and tell for sure
Thank u, u toonice name lol
Possibly if you can take a better picture of the diodesU need a better photo or is just impossible to check?
Thank u, u too
