Instead of rapid safe
I prefer tac wall stlye hidden in plain sight lol

Also true what works for me.might not be for everyone.

I just KNOW my children have 0 interest in the guns
Other then when we are out shooting.

But i agree its a good idea
That works. Any kind of safe. That's not so much directed at your kids as it is to keep your legal guns off the streets or being used against you. Statistics show a gun in the home is more likely to be used on some one in the home than an intruder.

I have a camera dvr system watching my home backed up to the cloud. I have motion sensors and a dog. Its very doubtful anyone would get close to my home without knowing.

Mennonites in my area have guns and can drive tractors but not cars. They make the steel wheels for the Amish. I have tons of local Amish and afew Mennonites. We are called English. They love to eat out.

They don't carry but the ones I was raised around ha guns and hunted for food.
I've seen many different rules depending on klans.... Seriously I know of 1 clan the kids can't have pedal bikes only push others pedal is ok. They've been around here since the 60's. I now see younger ones very overweight. Cell phone in hand. I'm sure the elders aren't happy. They have van drivers hall them around. They will do your roof 25% cheaper than anybody. Taxes

I used to make good money working for them. I used my truck to haul produce and tobacco.

They are big time where I used to live. Giant stores for everything. They do good work. They pay their bills. They will build you a house and sell you a donut to eat.
Same where I as raised. Had big stores with produce and baked goods along with meats.

The ones I as raised around even ran a few mill. No electric. It was powered by an old cat diesel.

I don't think gun safety courses would have helped. The young person was angry to the point of harming others. Some kids self mutilate. It is a mental health issue either by nature or nurture. Or both.
Also i probably practice more then most law enforcement

I have personally asked a cop what he was carrying he said he didnt know lol

Not all cops are gun guys lol
wtf he really said idk? how do you NOT know?Lack of training, thats how...

Are you sure the amish dont use guns?i thought they hunted?

I carry concealed because there are a lot of meth and oxy users up here looking for their next high.

Sorry i wont feel bad if one tries to rob me and i put him down not saying im trigger happey
And will aways try to defuse the situation
But if shit goes sour i would not hesitate

Good riddens to bad rubbish
not that i want that though
but i refuse to be a victim

Banning guns would only take away the good guys guns (and some bad guys im sure)

But you will NEVER EVER get all the guns off the streets outa criminal hands
Sorry impossible.

I agree with this last part. I bought a .45 semi automatic 1911 model handgun in high school in the 80’s. It had the numbers removed and came with bullets. $400 bucks. Within the range of anyone who wanted one.

My high school was one of the highest test score achieving schools in the country at the time. I grew up in an upper middle class to upper class area. Not the “hood” for sure.

It’s easier now. You can buy most anything on the street today.

But I sure don’t agree with your confidence having loaded weapons around children when you are not supervising.

I live out in the woods in the farmland and I wouldn’t say the kids here who have gun loving parents are more responsible with weapons.

If anything the kids where I grew up near 3 major cities in the neighborhoods we feared and respected guns as we didn’t ever see them except on cops and criminals. And on tv.

Here the kids bring out guns and show them off to everyone with pride. Not a smart thing to do with a weapon. Gives them unneeded attention. You never know who might get ideas.

I am sure not seeing better gun education among the hunters. Lol.

Its pretty obvious that you don't have kids.

Im pretty sure you're full of shit now though, because noone would choose a long rifle in an enclosed area at short range.

That's why they invented submachine guns for military/law enforcement use.

But out of interest, what do you think is more effective at disabling a target at close range. An AR15 or a S&W 1911 chambered in .45?
I have a shotgun, you are right about a long rifle being less than ideal, so use something like a cz evo, or an ar pistol in a pistol caliber, still a bit better than a handgun.

The govt is releasing all the old 1911's for nearly free. You just have to be a participating marksman and apply for it.

I have said it before i know my kids are perfectly fine with guns around.

If i was unsure i would lock them.

The type of gun person i am and my kids are
That muzzle doesnt sweep anything that cant be shot at any point.

Guns are always pointed. in a safe direction.

My kids have seen so many guns they are not interested frankly

That said as long as your kids arent mentally handi capped award winners

Let a child look at a gun and touch it in a responsble way of course.
After that the mystery is gone lol

The kids that get shot accidentally are by kids that dont know the 4 rules .

These are NEGLIGENT DISCHARGES
NOT ACCIDENTAL.

As you dont accidentlybpoint a gun at someone and see if its loaded by pulling the trigger

If you teach a kid it is ALWAYS always always loaded. They don't do that not the smart ones anyways

I have no need for a hand gun anymore. I have been off chemicals for almost 20 years and live violence free with Mrs. MMG and our garden out in the woods.

I don’t even hunt so I don’t have a rifle either.

An intruder at close range is a hand to hand combat situation anyway. And there are weapons (and experience) available. Just not firearms.

Kids can not be trusted to the degree you say they can. Not even yours.

Not even adults. Shit happens.

Also seems most of the mass shooters had a background full of guns. And a good education on how to use them.

Please lock up your guns and ammo and preferably separately. Especially if you want to promote ownership rather than deregulation.

Otherwise you are the enemy of gun rights.
