It's literally the exact same board.

You see the font that "HorticultureLightingGroup.com" uses? That is the default font used by Chinese manufacturers when you want to "OEM" something.

But hey, I'm certainly open to be corrected. If someone were to perhaps point out the actual manufacturer I'd be happy to be corrected.
Might just be the quality of the pics, but the first board appears to have slightly differently-shaped diodes? More square, less rectangular? But again, that may just be the pics.

Edit: another difference I see is the spacing between the Molex connectors and the first row of diodes. More distance on the HLG board.

just check right here on RIU, we even had some douche come in this thread to promote them. There is NO guaranty they are real samsung chips. Don't you find the price a bit odd? Maybe someone in this thread remembers this debacle, if so, fill this guy in.

But as I said, I do hope they work well for you, seeing you already spent the money.

Oh, and good luck with warranty issues........
There is a guarantee, alibaba has a return policy. I've purchased other things before and have returned them.

I don't find the price at bit odd. Not in the slightest. Companies need to make a profit, so they purchase goods for a lower price, then sell them for a higher price.

But again, if someone can prove that these boards aren't made in China/Taiwan/Asia, then I will stand corrected.

I'm not sure that you bought from the same manufacturer, I did inquire with one manufacturer whom stated that he had a signed nda agreement with another customer that he can not sell 288 or 304 piece pcb boards but he was however willing to sell me 336 piece boards for 35/ea plus shipping.
Not sure what an NDA would do for that manufacturer or reseller. Only that they cannot sell the OEM branded boards. All the manufacturer needs to do is not stamp the OEM markings and sell as generic.

I've never heard of the 336pc boards, someone on yt mentioned those as well but could not find them as PCB with Samsung 561c 6/7.

I purchased 10 PCB Samsung 561c boards, if they arrive and the diodes are not Samsung 561c, I will be getting my money back. As far as warranty goes... many US resellers say they warranty, but when push comes to shove, they never do. Also, for ~$30 a board, it's not a big deal.

Well, if they are indeed fake, alibaba has a return policy they will need to honor, or I will be getting these for free after a dispute with my credit card company. :-)

and btw pop22, Im not doubting for one second that these sellers are potentially selling fakes. i'm just ok with the fact that if they are I can return them or dispute with my cc company, and if they are legit, then i just paid half of what they resell for here in the US

I remember reading that they quantum boards were designed in the USA, not necessarily made in the USA. And in my post above yours I have spoke with a manufacturer on alibaba that has an agreement with another customer that forbids them to sell 288 or 304 boards, so I'm guessing that's their manufacturer?? ..unless there's some other company out there selling 288 and 304 boards, and they could have switched to a manufacturer in the US
Yea, there is absolutely no question these boards are not MADE in the USA. No doubt whatsoever.

So that then leaves us with who is making them and who is making fake versions of them. And/or who is claiming their are fake versions being made.

The way manufacturing works in HK/China is specific area are specific to markets. There is a lighting district, a paper district, a garment district, a toy district, etc etc.... You may have 5 manufacturers in the same area that have the ability to make the same PCB... but that's not to say some are shady fuckbags and try to burn people. It happens.

Is there a way to tell if they are not actually LM561C diodes?
Great question. That's something I'm looking into. I'm sure there is. I bet with some sort of magnifying glass you can look at markings on the diode itself.

I'm sure someone on this forum will have a better answer than me on that.

But yea, I'm curious about that too.

It would help you to read the entire thread instead of just writing what you think the situation is. The real manufacturer was already named and confirmed earlier in this thread. It is not the company you linked.

You would know that QB boards are being assembled in US as well.

That may be. But both the PCBs and the diodes are made in China. No disputing that.

I guess then the debate is whether or not the boards I bought are real. I contend they are, as I have a money back guarantee supporting the claim they are Samsung 561c diodes. Then the next question is, will they last. Again, I've got 90 days to figure that out, and return them. And for $35 a board, if one or two or four were to stop working in the next year, I'd be ok with that. Or I could simple re solder the diodes back on. No biggie.

Not to bust your bubble but those are knock offs of our products. You may want to check the authenticity of the LEDs.
What makes you say that?

You didn't invent the diodes, nor did you invent the PCBs. The HLG stamp on the PCB is a generic OEM marking (Times New Roman or whatever). I get them on several products that I purchase and then resell.

So you may be assembling them in the US, which I highly doubt. But that doesn't mean the diodes can't be sold by other manufacturers.

You honestly don't know what you are talking about. The boards are made in Michigan. Also those knock off boards are our design. We designed them in the first quarter of 2016. They became very popular and these assholes can't even come up with there own original board. Glad you got them at a great deal. Hope you got what you paid for.
