I don't think intentionally attempting to fry a QB qualifies as a test.Right, because driving them harder is less efficient. But they've been tested to 600W!

Sure it does!I don't think intentionally attempting to fry a QB qualifies as a test.

Must admit, the Quantum Boards just keep on surprising me
Au contraire, Mon frére!I don't think intentionally attempting to fry a QB qualifies as a test.
T5 or T8 ?View attachment 4027357
Heaven...
T5 or T8 ?
Sure looked like florescent to me, too.T5 converted to LED. This is the veg room...
Are those some form of DIY "tubes" or is this a pre-assembled item similar to what I've seen in the big home improvement stores?T5 converted to LED. That is the veg room...the flower room has 16 260qbs. 8 4x4 screens. Going for weekly perpeptual. 1 screen a week.View attachment 4027361
Great setup ... But that bunion on the side of your toe is fucking killing me .... LolView attachment 4027369 The tubes are 1/2" pvc draining to 1 1/2" pvc, draining to a chilled 120qt cooler. I set up a fill and drain system that will deliver fresh water or jacks 321 to any location. No more buckets!View attachment 4027368 View attachment 4027366 View attachment 4027367
He had some kind of small electronics box that fried. Both board and driver were fine.Didn't that QB survive the 600 watts, thought the driver went.
Do you happen to know where I can find some totes just like the ones you're using for your setup there? Those with the locking lids look super clean in your build. Like everything else does, I suppose.View attachment 4027369 The tubes are 1/2" pvc draining to 1 1/2" pvc, draining to a chilled 120qt cooler. Dude if I could like this more I would. Thank you so much. I can do things if people show me with electronics, I get lost in the math, but I am more of a mechanical kinda guy, not electrical. I can take a car apart and put it back together but if it has a short I might as well set it on fire.
No prob ... Use a 100k linear pot and you are set .Dude if I could like this more I would. Thank you so much. Heathkit was one of the things that made this country great. No prob ... Use a 100k linear pot and you are set .
Yeah there are those growers on the forum that get WAY TOO TECHY with the spreadsheets and light formulas .... Rather kinda moot if you are growing in less than " optimal " conditions ( sealed room , temp controlled , etc. ) , many are trying to over analyze the specs of the light engines or power values.
For me , I keep shit way simple : target about 30watts per SQ.FT or so and you are growing weed ! No need for those 1000watt pizza oven lamps .... Less is more with these lights .... I grew 3 plants under ONE quantum ( qb304 ) 3500k S5 bin board with a shitty 50 Watt driver - nothing else........ It's in this thread , way back.
DIY isn't really that hard ( especially with these lights ) @robincnn and @Stephenj37826
have done all the hard work by matching drivers and build support. I'm a kid of time when Kit building was something kids and adults did as a hobby ..... I built HEATHKIT shortwave radios ( never built anything like it before ) , radio shack projects , etc.
It's the handling of fragile components and learning soldering skills ... That's the tough part. I actually wish HEATHKIT was still around , they had some cool ass stuff.
