Lol "led grow stressed weed" yea if crystally as hell and stanky danky is stressed, then yup very stressed!!
Damn that's really good idea...If thats your answer then run 1 DE man, seriously. A 1000 watt heater doesn't grow bud friend.
Yea in a proper sized room it's off the hook.
He's not talking about lights running cool, he's talking about the room not being warm enough for the plants to transpire at the optimum level.I would rather have cool lights with higher efficiency and longer life with a heater than the alternative.
I see lights running cool as a big positive.
You know what's a better idea? "Insulation". LolDamn that's really good idea...
Lol I know, right?Lol "led grow stressed weed" yea if crystally as hell and stanky danky is stressed, then yup very stressed!!
I too have noticed an increase in overall "frost" using LEDs. And I agree with the spectrum aspect as well... LEDs are opening a whole new door. We all just gotta get our feet across the thresholdLol I know, right?
I get crazy frost on my LED buds. I think it has a lot to do with improved spectrum.
Mine only do that when the room isn't warm enough.I get crazy frost as well with LED, but does anybody else notice that with COB's the tops of the plants turn purple to some degree no matter the strain?
I've crossed and I'm not looking back. Never again will I grow with light bulbs.I too have noticed an increase in overall "frost" using LEDs. And I agree with the spectrum aspect as well... LEDs are opening a whole new door. We all just gotta get our feet across the threshold
I'm honestly on my first grow with a COB in an experiment setup, and we just put another 2 COB setup in rotation today...I get crazy frost as well with LED, but does anybody else notice that with COB's the tops of the plants turn purple to some degree no matter the strain?
What's the room temperature during night and day?I'm honestly on my first grow with a COB in an experiment setup, and we just put another 2 COB setup in rotation today...
But the Mendo Breath I have running in the experiment setup is purpling on the top of the colas only, and the temps (especially up at the canopy level) are too high to be the usual "cold temp" purple pheno expression... Won't be able to verify if it happens with the new run for a while as we just started them (clones, The White). But if I remember to document them with photos I may post them to see if anybody else is open to discussing the topic.
You are doing it wrong, next time do what I did, use the whole room and move into the spare bedroom.I prefer hps for winter because I found with cobs I was heating my whole bedroom to keep the tent warm. Very inefficient
During the day, ambient room temperature is between 72-75F, depending on what our apartment's thermostat is set at (apartment design was NOT friendly to the AC routing) but the inside of the growing "container" (let's call it that) is roughly 77F or so, as our friend (Who has a degree in computer engineering, and this eyesore has a micro controller automating it) decided a thermal sensor wasn't important, so I can't accuratley tell the temperature because getting inside requires taking the entire top of the setup off. What's the room temperature during night and day?
That's right, real growers sleep in the closet! You are doing it wrong, next time do what I did, use the whole room and move into the spare bedroom.
Daytime temps should be in the low to mid 80s.During the day, ambient room temperature is between 72-75F, depending on what our apartment's thermostat is set at (apartment design was NOT friendly to the AC routing) but the inside of the growing "container" (let's call it that) is roughly 77F or so, as our friend (Who has a degree in computer engineering, and this eyesore has a micro controller automating it) decided a thermal sensor wasn't important, so I can't accuratley tell the temperature because getting inside requires taking the entire top of the setup off.
Night temps are 70-72, as I also have my 4' 8 lamp T5 in the same room, running one or both bays of lights, depending on what i'm keeping under it (I propagate vegetables indoors as well). There is a possibility that the temps have been dropping lower than 70 though, now that I'm sitting here typing...
I agree, I like my daytime temps warmer. I failed to mention that this jackass also only put an exhaust fan/diy carbon filter on one side, no fresh intake... also no way to control RH because his "sealed" design doesn't seal worth shit.Daytime temps should be in the low to mid 80s.
If your computer geek buddy doesn't think a thermometer inside the growing space is important, it's time he was fired. Lol
My roommate and I have both been curious about the possibilities of using LED strips inverted to supplement growth from the bottom up as well, but decided to save it for a future project. I'm definitely intrigued now that you have brought it up. Are you documenting at all?^^^ I am adding a bunch of 3000k t8 led strips to one of my current grows (without the diffusers) below the canopy pointed up to help with lower bud growth and to hopefully get them to finish as the same time as the tops.
Gotcha. Just curious.I use 3500k citizen clu048-1212 COBs for main lighting. I'm not exactly documenting it anywhere, the grow is already 3 weeks into flower. I bought a 25-pack of the 3000k led t8's off amazon for $150. They're 18 watts each and I plan on using them all. I'm trying to hit 6+ pounds per 4x8 tent but the closest I'm at is this current harvest although I'm still waiting to finish drying the lower buds I'm pretty sure I'm at around 5ish pounds this time around and that's from seed 3 different strains so obviously clones from 1 strain would do better. I'm hoping this under lighting is the ticket.
Running a campsite That sounds like a great setup. Do you run a perpetual cycle? Or do you breed as well?I run 3x 4x8's and I'm in the midst of adding a 4'9"x9'6"
