To be fair the comment above was a little bitchy but i can tell you that he did not get anything close to 94grm dry weight! If i'm being honest growing with cfl's is not ideal. I know that you say HID isn't an option but maybe consider an outside grow in a nice secret spot somewhere? Lumens from the sun will pretty much beat any cfl wherever you live lol. I have seen some quite impressive grows with cfl's especially these huge 250w jobbies they sell these days. HID really is the way to go though, even if it were just a 70w HPS from a garden floodlight, a nice scrog setup to keep the bud tops level would give u a nice sticky Oz for sure. Way better than anything you'll ever achieve with cfl. Good luck with the grow anyways!

First of all dont comment if dont know what the fuck your talking about. This wasnt my first grow idiot, however it was the first grow under cfls. So get your facts straight. By the way I will grow a tomato so I can throw that shit in your face smart ass. By the way, let me know when you pull 6oz off one plant under your lights till then stfu.
Your right it is better to grow under a small hps than multiple cfls. All that tweaking and moving shit around not only stress the person out but also stresses the plants. Not to mention all the little tricks on does to try to improve yields cuz they go into the grow knowing these lights suck ass.
By the way dont get me wrong Im going to continue this shit until im satisfied even if it means dropping more money on these crappy lights. I want to be able to say for sure that these shit suck asss plain and simple.
Next grow will be in soil, no molases no this or that just worm casting and worm tea and sea bird guano(maybe still have my doubts about this piece fish fert). Going back to the basic

hey ghost samurai. you can suck my dick. all 94g of it... wait that's not my dick, that's my SACK. anyways man- to answer your question from back a page. i vegged for a little under 2 months. the plant was bagseed thrown outdoors i got it when it was about 8in tall, and it got pretty sick too- everything just came around perfectly for flowering. and as you can see by my box (which was built AROUND my plant... which by the end was around 3ft tall and had light everywhere!)- it's all about proximity and angles. i try to get 360 degrees of light around the plant. these 2 qualities are why I love CFL's. i also use Hdepot's light which come in 5500k, 3500k, & 2700k- and i pretty much daily/bidaily adjust spectrums/intensities etc. It's all about the technique man.
TRUTH: HID's will get you more bud with less work than CFL's.
TRUTH: CFL's can have huge harvests and are the absolute shit if you are- smart, a little bit dedicated, and handy with some diy fixtures.
*i'll post some pics of my next set-up soon, Lowe's AND HomeDepot both have broken vert saws so i cant get any f'n sides on it yet. ill be flowering in less than a week if i can get the sides up.
ps- sorry i had to get all mean and shit up there... but how itf is someone gonna diss on my harvest... and CFL's?

so once and for all... if people like samurai cant do their hw/figure out how to use CFL's, they probably should puss out and buy some HID... or maybe they should go buy a fucking botany book and start filling that brain of theirs up with some kind of useful information- though honestly i figured someone who knew how to use the word "livid" in the correct context could probably grow with CFL's.... shows what i know.
Growing with CFL's takes time, effort, and intelligence... and is still challenging. Just like making a Ferrari or painting a masterpiece, sculpting a statue or just writing a good f'n paper. It's stealthy, its effecient. It's like playing with Lego's that just happen to grow marijuana. hell ya! and the results? amazing.

Good for you, I happy it took you almost a year to get 94g. Your the man, when I grow up I wanna be just like you. A fag in denial, and no not the river in egypt, about how great and wonderful his cfls are. Speaking as a current cfl grower, I see why the HID boys come in and bust our balls about these lights and about the growers that use them. Keep up your good work. I just imagine, A few years ago I would of stuffed one of your 3.5 oz into a godfather, hit that once twice and give that shit away. Guess I couldnt do that now with a whopping 3oz every year. some of us need stealth. some of us cant do the proper ventilation for HID because we need stealth. also, some just grow for personal use, including me, and i probably only go through an eighth once every 1.5 months...
if you hate CFLs thats fine. im not going to try and change your mind. but there are legitimate reasons why people use them over other options...

4.5 months actually... with me having possession of the plant (the one... plant... my first plant... that grew huge and beautiful... with CFL's) for only a little less than 4 of those. and when my next harvest is here in 2.5 ... (thats 1 + 1 + a little something more) months... you can throw all of it into another Godfather and be the coolest guy in your dreams.
my cfl box gives me 2o every two months.. with 250ish watts, i veg in a tiny.. and i mean tiny.. box.. then into the flower box they go. I aim for 4 plants at a time staggered every two weeks.
I have a 1000 watt hps gathering more dust by the day. I fill my needs with cfl's. Its people like ghost samurai that make me happy that i am growing successfully with these "crappy lights" and will continue to do so until some random stranger gives me a nice new 250w hps (santa?).
