So, no, I won't play your made up history game.

The Southern Democrats and Northern Democrats were two different tickets on the ballot.

Lincoln won according to the rules of the day. What's your beef? He won the EC and he got the majority vote.

The EC was invented to placate slave holders. Popular vote isn't slavery. What a nutty idea you have.
