I thought so as well.
Now that we know what the picture looks like, how can we affect the situation to make our country more equitable again?
Will it take another world war? I sure hope not; humanity lost over 60 million in the last one and crude nuclear weapons only made their appearance at the very end. Another might mean the end of the human race.
How about another Great Depression? I think we're headed in that direction. The lessons of the last several economic disasters have gone all but unheeded, and we find ourselves barreling down the slope towards yet another even now. We could certainly hit the brakes and change course, but it would require kicking the banks out of the driver's seat. Popular revolutions have a history of being very messy indeed.
So I'm at a loss. I see another recession coming, it could worsen into a crash very easily. I think the American People should not take it lying down like we did the last one. We must demand that the banks be broken up, the perpetrators be held accountable, that Government work for US, not the criminals and manipulators. We must not be chased off the streets by belligerent law enforcement in order to 'keep the peace'; we must demand the respect of our civil rights and the rule of law over the 'elites'. I'm pessimistic but this is the best of the possible options.
Our future is at stake.
