Hand trimmed top shelf bud for $450/lb?

How dare they, working harder and longer, using organic and pesticide free nutrients, and then selling it at a fair price!

What is this country coming to?

I have a birth right to charge $2k/lb for salt crusted brick weed I didn't spend any time tending.

Harumph.
There's a place for you- in Idaho lol

"Worthless" in what sense? To scumbag, price gouging greed monsters only out to capitalize? Maybe. To me? Never. It's an invaluable resource that I've relied on for 30 years.
Its like any other commodity.

People will pay for quality.

Some like cheap beer some don't.

Asian Americans, I don't want to get into racism just the way they moved in grew 10X more then any one and dumped it for half price to every club.
And its pretty darn good stuff because they get the clones from good breeders.

just saying, I cant get my head around it.

Its not a racism thing, i don't know what else to describe them as with out pushing this topic over the cliff.

Its OG and sour D.

Many are violating environmental laws, iv been to a dozen farms and they all cut down the forests into slash piles.
There is no way that people growing like that product will be as good as someone that cares about what they are doing. People that grow for profit only always cut corners. I don't.

You also have the choice on to by it or not. I don't shop at Walmart much. Yes it cost me more but I try to shop local owned if I can.

I grow my own because I don't support what the cartels are doing. That and it sucks.

it's a
can you translate that? Whats price gouging? undercutting like walmart to wreck competition?
Explain greed monsters? I have 10X LESS plants then any one, it would take me 10 years to grow as much as my neighbors. They had THREE HUNDRED AND FIFTY!

Last year I met a guy who had 1200X3. that's super crazy.

I see a future where I'm simply not there.

Oh you mean like American farmers in the 1930s? Lol. Is alcohol worthless? I mean a lot of breweries out there making a lot of drink.

I figure those Asian families will hit a point of diminishing returns just like their American counterparts. By the way making an observation is not racist, assuming that only Asians Americans go over board or are doing something that non asian aka white Americans don't is kind of racist.

What I'd like to know is who are the suckers who manicure other peoples' weed for $200 a lb? That's the only real work in weed production and they're doing it for very little return. Of course, I'm sure they're specifically ordered to manicure very minimally, leaving as much stalk and leaf as possible and still be able to say it was technically manicured. Nobody could pay me enough to clean their weed for them.

If I was going to do the hard part I might as well do the easy part and grow it too, then make several times as much instead of letting some lazy greedy slob make most of the money for doing the least. Oh yeah, changing nutrient solution is back breaking labor. Sure, they have to pay the cost of the facility and power but still they're making way more than $200 a lb. What if nobody was sucker enough to clean other peoples' weed for them? Be a lot fewer growers around, I can tell you that.

Eventually people are going to figure out that cannabis is not only an agricultural crop, but that it also cures what ails you. People are slow so its taking a long time to go mainstream. Something like 65% of people (reproducible in every culture regardless of race, religion, or style of government) do whatever the fuck they are told without question. Those dumbfucks (all of us humans) take a long time to learn. But when people finally realize they can help the retarded neighbor kid feel a whole lot better and not scream and bang his head against the wall by simply dumping a couple seeds in ground next to the tomato plants in the garden, then it will be everywhere and it will be free or next to free. And it should be. Some of you on here are stuck on the "old way," and those who make money off the "old way" are the ones who fight progress the hardest. Marijuana is a better medicine than it is an intoxicant, and smoking it is the worst way to consume it. Although I remain fond of the practice, the future of cannabis is as a dietary supplement, and the future of cannabis cultivation is as a vegetable. So the Asians figured is out first, not a surprise, Asian immigrants are the wealthiest demographic in the US (look it up if you don't believe me). They are hungry and they aren't hung up on the "old way." Adapt or die. If you rely on illegal cannabis cultivation to survive, you should start saving your money. If you drive for a living, well automation is coming and your job has an expiration date. Change and progress happens. Even to pot growers. I live in the NorthEast and here in September everyone is giving away tons of zucchini because we all grow more of it than we can ever hope to consume... that is the future of pot. And its a beautiful thing.

It is important, at least in the near term, to understand that the level of remaining government regulation, tax and prohibited practices will affect the price even after it is "legalized".

Hopefully people will awaken to the idea that pot should be completely unregulated, like zucchini's, so the future can be more beautiful.

I'm working for the day when medicinal quality Cannabis can be grown for a few bucks a pound, because then the thugs will fuck off, the tax man will look elsewhere for revenue, the corporate greed heads won't turn a massive profit...

And those who really NEED it will finally be able to afford it instead of financing the lifestyles of all the above mentioned parasites.
Well said!

this thread has me lol.......most pot smokers can't or won't grow their own & the demand is going up every day. More federal enforcement will only drive prices up.
S'ok, though, because when shit hits the fan you'll see me - suitcase in hand - heading towards your compound/magic garden seeking sanctuary.
;)

Think of me as a 'trimming machine' that operates on beer rather than electricity. Watch for me coming...

Continued / reinvigorated federal enforcement will eventually result in the dissolution of the Feds power via more jury nullification and will feature continued disobedience to their stupid laws in the interim.

The Feds propaganda worked for years, but nowadays even people who don't use pot don't believe the prohibitionist bullshit anymore and those people will be on juries and let peaceful people walk free.

You are right though, in the short term, more federal douche baggery will probably keep the prices high.

I agree I wouldn't trim other people's weed , not unless a friend needed help and then I'd usually ask for their help, when it was their turn.

Do you think if you became a commercial grower, on a large scale, you would continue to do all of your own trimming? You would have to farm that part of the operation out, while you would be the one making the weed happen and making sure someone was ready to buy it.
I think trimmers fall into the same group of workers as cannery workers in Alaska or fruit pickers, where you don't make a bunch of money, but you also don't need many skills. The more skills needed to to do a job, the less people that are able to do the job, giving an individual more negotiating power and a higher wage.
There are many people that love to trim for the season and they come back year after year. They rely on trimming jobs to help pay the bills. Does that make the owner a bad person to hire these folks?

I have buddies who can make at least 1k a week trimming. One of the trimmers this year did at least 2 lb a day, every day until it was gone.

Lots of these guys come from other countries, trim for 2 or 3 months, then take the whole year off.

To those who keep driving the price down, fuck you. We work super hard every day in harsh conditions with no days off to produce quality organic buds. I understand the need for cheap medicine but it's literally not worth producing at $800 or $1000 a lb after labor, overhead, trimming, etc
