IGNORANT MASSES SHOCKED BY PHILLY BEVERAGE TAX IMPACT

So the gist of this is (I'm really tired so not going to go into what I've experienced working as a healthcare professional) "some" people are pissed because education is obviously lacking and people are whining about an extra soda tax? Obesity is now an epidemic so this could potentially address both issues?
Anyone with half a brain cell understands the rising cost of healthcare in the US is directly due to chronic preventable conditions and disease, so I'd like to see some of these naysayers at least have a solid effective plan to curb these healthcare costs rather than the pointless whining. As well as a plan to address the lack of funding for education. Because IMO, this is something that should go nationwide.

Cut out the soda and at the very least, maybe folks will start to put some real value into protecting our water source.
Its not just a soda tax, basically bottle drink tax (in the example, it was propel water)

Tangerine has no problem with the government punishing people for doing things it does not like them to do....

I prefer freedom myself.

Multi-vitamins do not help. I had a few doctors come out and give me that unsolicited advice.

Do not help what?
I'm just saying that if your diet sucks, supplements help prevent deficiencies. Ever heard of scurvy? That's an extreme example, but the theory is sound; humans need macros & micros just like plants. Natural is better, but there are other options, depending on your situation.
Some people take vitamins then stop because they "don't feel any different than before".
Yep. That's how it is supposed to work. As I said earlier, you can't turn back the clock -- but you can slow it down.
Wouldn't it be awesome if you felt the same in ten years? Aging is so gradual that most people only notice it on special events, like birthdays. Truth is, you age a little every day. If your body is deficient, it ages a little faster.
Just like money, every little bit counts -- and it adds up over time.
BTW: I've had a LOT of experience with doctors, including specialists. Most of them have proven to be... "unhelpful". (I am being kind.)

Punishing ppl? What a fucking arrogant and imbecilic post.

Tell me, how many times have you had look someone in the eye and say "I'm very sorry. We've done all we could but your loved one has passed?" How many times have you held a childs limp body in DKS? None? Well until you have STFU about your freedoms.

Rather than punish folks I'd prefer to have a society filled with healthy educated folks....even you.

BTW, you DO realize no one's preventing you from drinking yourself into a Coke Zero coma. You're free to do so, so quit the dramatics.

Vitamin C fixes scurvy, not a multi-vitamin.

There is no problem with specific vitamins to balance deficiencies.

However, nobody has a deficiency of everything so again... multi-vitamins are worthless. Find a doctor that is in favor of them...

he doesn't even have to worry about what philadelphia is doing, either.

it's not like he ever will, since he can't sell that house he inherited from his parents either. the fucking roof is about to cave in.

even a fake inspector like himself would red flag that shit.

Yeah, and anyone that's ever studied the demographics of our homeless population would know a high percentage are Vets. For a country that puts so much emphasis on our military budget this is absolutely unacceptable. But that's a separate topic for another thread.

Maybe if people simply stopped joining the military. :dunce:

Seven pages and not one alternative solutions.
Here is the solution. People need to take care of themselves and not drink too much sugary beverage. I welcome the government to assist in information but when it chooses to attempt to change peoples behaviors through punitive financial policy I have a problem with that.

If the government is incapable of teaching people what is good and bad why do we bother with education?
