Still cycling. Only fish, without any nutrient additives. Yes, the ladies are suffering a bit.
~25 fish total, 12 Brookies, 13 Rainbow
Well, I like running a little colder water anyways, to slow down growth. It's currently running @ 61°, which is fine now, but summer is coming. The freezer I have, has 400 ft of 3/4in hose, and still not enough. I need a true chiller for sure. I'm sick of spending moneys on DIY stuff that doesn't work.
I have about 100 fish in there currently. I'll have a more up to date video soon.12Brook trout13Any fish?

Do you have an intermediate stage someplace where the ammonia gets reprocessed into nitrates?
Nope, the bio-filter does most of that work for me.
Can you explain where and how this component works in your garden? It's the part that's the biggest mystery to me.
Is there a link to this type of bio filter? Thanks for the explanation!I'm not sure exactly where you caught up, but I'll give it a go.
My garden requires lots of bacterial matter to run properly. These bacteria are the reason for the nitrification process. This bacteria requires surface area to grow on, and K3 media, within the bio-filter, are designed specifically for the maximum about of surface space, along with moving around to maximize the contact with the most water.
As these bounce about dancing in the water, they hit each other and clean each other off, to give new area for more bacterial matter to grow. Newer bacteria is more effective in the nitrification process.
