Well still doesn't prove anything honestly. I hear your argument about par on the canopy is all that matters. If we were using 1 light in the middle of a giant non reflective room with only 4x4 of canopy that would apply. This is never the case though so overall output is important. Put that Gavita in a 4x4 tent and the Pro 9 then do a proper par chart. Also which lighting passport? Hi Lux? If not it will read higher intensities ie over 50000 lux differently. We paid over 2k for ours.
 
Put up multiple fixtures and see how it looks.

The Maximizer with 60° lens is insane in the 4x4.... Did the lens magically make more light?

DE HPS all come out to about the same in PAR to around 100-200PPFD.

That was a 3x3? It doesnt specify. If that was your test then please give more information in the photo. The 4x4 is the size most people grow it so it should be the first test you ran for sharing results on PPFD/ Par output.

There is no way that that is a 5x5 vs a Gavita, seeing as I have very different results with my DE. The results should not be that skewed.

Run the 4x4 test and show the graph of each mapped ft at least, I took an average of the highest reading, lowest, and middle for each spot.
 
Amare's all marketing. I argue Tasty could do as well, or NGL, etc. like, their testimonials are from board members, they are clearly just hype and marketing, like "the white light revolution?" That started with COBs, generally. Don't get me wrong, Amare probably has legit good lights. They make COB fixtures, themselves. I'm just saying, I have a feeling a lot of desire for them lies in their aesthetics and marketing.

So please explain this result with ONE plant under ONE Amare SE 250 CoB hybrid

Not true. Every single owner of one will te you different. That's not from board members. My testimonials going up w/ many more soon. Pics too.

Add that to what we've always known about white light & you have the perfect grow light, hence Amare.

Veg., & all photosynthetic receptors firing away like crazy providing your plants w/ extreme health, yield & quality.
You just won't know till you try it next to your Cobber.
I have tried both by not turning on the monos. The plant goes bonkers w/ the enhanced.
It just is what it is. Not a marketing ploy. Can't convince 100% of the clients if it wasn't true. Dont you think half of them have tried regular cobs? Sure they have. N now they know.
You can too. There's no prejudice.

No one says an Amare light can't grow respectable weed. What they are saying is the makers won't willingly let their light be 3rd party tested...like in a sphere. That way it can be compared to other grow lights.

I believe in R&D that isn't from a single source. I say my Tasty COBs are as good as Amare.
 
I do not, in fact, believe COBs were tried before Amare prior to choosing Amare. I believe people who choose Amare do so first. I also say the ones who have switched probably ran their COBs too soft. Guarantee, any quality COB driven hard matches Amare.

You clearly didn't get my point. I didn't say it was a bad light. I said any other COB or COB setup with other lights included (what you call a hybrid COB setup), if optimized, would be just as good.

It is, however, overpriced. That kind of pricetag can't be justified if good COBs can do just as good.

That had occurred to me, but I can sleep at night not knowing how efficient the Amare is. But this is a thread on the "Most Efficient LED Light," and I'm just saying a pile a weed will never be the hard numbers most folks are looking for.

I build my own lights and find the PAR reading 12" directly below a cob is a plenty good comparative measurement for me. Then it's my job to build, space and raise/lower my lights to get the most uniform coverage to the canopy. My motto: No photon left behind!
